“Lovely location”

It rained for most of the time we were there but the lobby overlooked the beach which was nearly as good as being out on the beach. The lobby was probably that best part of the hotel. The pool, spa, sauna area wasn't all that. Our toilet was blocked for about 16 hours but in the end fixed itself. They had a good selection at breakfast. All in all I would recommend this hotel.

Was a bit nervous about staying here because of the mixed reviews but it's not a bad place. It's a fairly old building that has been only partially rennovated, which means the rooms and most of the hotel are a bit dated. That said, it has a perfect location opposite the beach and a decent-sized swimming pool with sauna and jaccuzzi. It sounds like some people here were expecting more from the place because of the pics (the rooms we saw had not been refurbished, so weren't really like the pics) but ultimately, it's an average 3-star hotel in a great spot for the beach- and you get what you pay for. OK overall but wouldn't rush back.

Our group consisted of ages ranging from 8 to 90 years old, so a wide variety of perspectives.

The hotel offers gorgeous views from the lobby reception area, we found it a great place to relax. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodated any request we made. The family room was huge, with more than enough storage and bunk beds for the kids. The only slight downside we found was a taxi (or rental car) was required to get anywhere. This off course was offset by the amazing views over Fistral Beach.

Our family groups stayed at the Esplanade over the holidays and we were impressed with the hotel.

The hotel is in a fantastic location on Fistral Beach. We found the rooms to be large and well furnished (even the family rooms were spacious), the reception and Bars seemed to of been recently done up.

The food was great, breakfast was a good selection for everyone and planty of it, and evening meal was of exceptional quality, they provided alternative for the children if they wanted.

The hotel also provided some activities like treasure hunts for the kids, it has its own surf shop and school which the younger generations in our group enjoyed. We found all the staff to be gebuine and helpfull and if we ever return to Cornwall will definately consider the ESplanade first.

We absolutely had great fun staying at the Esplanade. We were recommended to stay and loved it. The hotel is modern and fresh as we like it, our room was huge, and overlooked the Fistral Beach, which was fantastic, within the hotel is the quicksilversurf school that ourkids attended and really enjoyed. The food was excellent and they were very accommodating to the kids fussyness at dinner, all staff were very friendly and polite. The play area and the pool were very useful when it rained. Overall we will return back to the esplanade and will be recommending it to our friends.

Just spent an enjoyable weekend. Easy to park & pleasant welcome from the efficient reception staff.
The Foyer and lounge area are stylish and a comfy place to sit and enjoy the fantastic views of Fistral bay.
The hotel upstairs is a bit of a warren of corridors and small staircases but there are some lifts too.The roooms had the 'wow factor' with contempory co-ordinated decor and luxury touches (especially for this budget) like LCD TVs,Kingsize beds,Balconies and impressive sea views to the fore.
I really can't understand previous reviews' negativity (unless they were pr-refit or old staff) so I'm glad I saw for myself!
The breakfast was first class and copious in choice and amount. The view from the dining room over the bay was inspiring and useful to see if 'the surf's up' or what the weather's doing!
Smiles all round.Would definately visit again.

We stayed here recently and found that the hotel was very clean with good sized rooms. I was travelling with my wife and our ten year old son who loved the swimming pool and play area.

We only ate in the hotel a couple of nights but found that the quality was good both evenings. The breakfasts offered a good selection also.

The hotel was well located to explore Cornwall.

We would stay again.
