“Well run family hotel”

Worth booking. We stayed in hotel for 5 nights. Lovely friendly place. We had room 22 which was up at the top of steep staircase, not good if you're infirm. Room had beautiful views over the bay. Room was huge and could have slept family of 5 if you were on a tight budget. The villas around the pool looked lovely too. The grounds were spacious and great for sitting in with a cider after a long day sightseeing. The restaurant was very expensive so didn't eat there in evening. The breakfast was ok but couldn't understand why you only got half slice of black pudding! Would recommend this hotel to others. There are a few restaurants nearby which we found just by exploring the area. Try the tapas bar excellent food but book before hand as its busy.

Room Tip: The higher up the better the view

Stayed in the apartments for three nights and had a thouroughly enjoyable stay. Excellent facilities, spotlessly clean and the perfect size for a family with an older child. Enjoyed the outdoor (heated) pool and the short walk to a very pretty little beach. Also found the reception staff to be very helpful and attentive.

It was a great place to base our short visit to Cornwall from and will definitly look to stay there again.

On booking this hotel we asked for a double room, we were given a family room which I initially cancelled then changed our minds and decided to run with it, we were not let down.
Check in at reception was very pleasent and we were offered help with our luggage, be warned though parking can be a bit limited especially if you go out for the day and there are a lot of evening diners when you get back, and it's a bit of haul from the lower carpark up to reception (elderly be warned).
I have to say I have never stayed in a cleaner hotel, this place is spotless, in fact it became a bit of an obsession trying to find so much as a bit of dust.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and well presented.
The only exception was the staff, they were extremely polite and well turned out, but were somewhat forgetful, not just once but on several occassions we had to chase up various requests, on our last morning it took them 40 minutes to serve up two boiled eggs for breakfast, we were not however going to let this distract from a most enjoyable hotel ( pity the weather didn't hold up ).

Room Tip: First floor rooms are probably best for access as the second floor rooms are at the top of quite a s...

Stayed here from last Saturday to Wednesday, had a very nice room looking out to the gardens and Porth Beach. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was spotless and the food excellent. We had a table looking out to the sea and it was so nice to have breakfast there. We also enjoyed a drink in the evening in the conservatory and one afternoon we had a free cream tea each which was yummy!
Shame the weather wasn't better as I would have liked to go for a swim in the pool but hopefully we will return and I will get the chance.

My husband and I have just spent three nights at this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. We have been exceedingly pleased with everything about the stay. Cleanliness is spotless, the staff are polite and helpful without being overbearing and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice
We had bought this as a two day deal off KGB however decided to arrive a day earlier and when we called the hotel to see if the room would be available we were given the same rate for the third night, as we had paid through KGB We would highly recommend this hotel. Although we did not see inside them the apartments also looked very nice.

Stayed here with mum and brother's family. So had three generations including a toddler. We stayed in villa 10 which had 2 bedrooms with an ensuite and a common shower room with an outer patio from one of the bedrooms. The first floor had the very well laid out kitchen and lounge with a balcony looking out into the bay area( view is fair and you can see the water in high tide ). The place was well set up with all the needed utensils, cutlery, glasses and plates. We did have access to the hotel which we didn't really use. It's a 2 minute walk to the beach which is great all days especially for the sunset. The staff were kind enough to provide us with a high chair and toddler cot. The parking for the car is reserved just outside the house. the heater wasn't working and we realised it only at midnight when we needed hot water so ended up calling reception multiple times till someone finally answered the phone but he was very helpful and sorted it out promptly( so make sure everything is working when you check in )
I did book through laterooms for the property at Watergate bay but it was already booked. The villa was offered as a free upgrade so thanks for that. Though after I saw watergate bay I realised that it is a much better beach. Didn't get to eat in the restaurant but heard good things about it.
Definitely recommended place for your stay in Cornwall as its ideally located for the main attractions in Cornwall. Good communication from the staff when needed as I had some queries before the arrival.
