We stayed at Porth Veor for two nights at the end of a week's camping. The room was one of the more spacious that i have experienced, smallish bathroom but modern and spotlessly clean. We had an issue with a wobbly toilet seat, this was fixed within an hour of it being reported. Overall the staff were friendly and couldn't be more helpful.
The only negatives were a very small tv, they should really invest in larger wall-mounted tv's and maybe the room could have been personalised with some artwork. Breakfast was very good, however on the first of our two mornings we were told there were no baked beans, the supplier had let them down. Personally I would have sent someone to Tesco's to avoid having to tell people this. Location excellent for Porth beach, and a bracing 1 mile walk into Newquay along the clifftops.

Everything about our stay in the apartment was fantastic yet again
only downside was when other apartments were being cleaned you could not relax as cleaners had tv on full blast with windows open and food in restraunt was very good but lacked presentation

We stayed at the 'Beach House' in a rear facing apartment for a week at the end of August and this place fitted the bill.
We have 2 young kids and the location was superb for the beach. About 20 paces and 7 steps down to Porth Beach means you can forget having to pack up the car for the day .
The apartment has 1 car park space which is just about big enough although you do have to compete with the huge 4x4 or people carrier of other guests. 1 visitors space is also available but was always used by guests of other flat owners.
The apartment was nicely furnished , learher sofa, comfy beds......but we had a few small gripes. The apartment was cleaned before our arrival but wasnt as clean as we would like (a used ladies razor was left in the bathroom and loads of sand between sofa cushions) and smelled because the vac needed a new bag/filter. Also the main bathroom smelled a little due (we think) to people washing sandy beach stuff in the sink/bath. The wall fixings for the wardrobe and cupboard had come away and so neither were secure. The blind in the lounge was also missing a slat. When highlighted these were fixed within 2 days (though we would have preferred to know when someone would access to apartment without us being there).
The apartment was equiped with DVD, Wifi, big freezer and fridge, hairdryer , toaster. Lift to all floors. Strangely no recycling facility.
Despite the minor flaws the place was good for the week.
Staff were generally good. Helen on reception was very good. One member if staff was a little curt but maybe that's just his manner.
We paid for the 'get up and go' option which meant we didn't have to do the check out clean....well worth it to save time in the morning for the long drive on change over Saturday!

Stayed here on half board with my wife for 3 nights in August. The food in this hotel is excellent. There is a good choice for beakfast and the evening meals are very good. Our half board deal enabled us to choose from the a la carte menu and is very good value. The Spanish waiter Ernest was very attentive, helpful and good humoured. All the other staff were also friendly and helpful.

The hotel is well placed for walks north along the coastal path. Also, its only a 10 minute walk into Newquay but far enough away from the crowds to have a relaxing time.

The local cider in the bar is delicious. It think its called Rattlers.

I booked this hotel months ago and was told the room numbers that we would have because my 88 year old mum was with us. When we arrived the rooms were up 2 flights of stairs, one being very steep, instead of the promised rooms, also there was no lift. The only alternative offered was to put my Mum on a floor below us which was ridiculous. Luckily my Mum's pretty fit so we managed!!! The staff were run off their feet, multi tasking like you've never seen. The food was very good and the staff in general were very nice. The rooms were clean and tastefully furnished. We enjoyed a couple of nights but with so many stairs don't think we could manage more than that. Overall very nice and service good .

Room Tip: So many stairs try and get lower floor

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for your lovely feedback regarding the staff and food. The staff are a great asset to to the Hotel. All the team here multitask and are committed to doing this as we are a small hotel. It is very effective way to run a business and gives them diversity in their job roles.

I can only apologize you did not get the rooms you requested when you booked. However we only have notes in your booking for both rooms to be near each other. We had no notes that a 1st floor room was requested and therefore you were moved prior to your arrival to accommodate other bookings. When making a booking it is best to get special requests confirmed in writing from us and we will make sure they are adhered to.

I look forward to welcoming you back again and we will make sure if you let us know any special requests are acted upon.

We spent the weekend here for my husband’s birthday in March 2012. The accommodation is lovely and very clean. The villa is very spacious with everything you need to hand. Both bedrooms were a good size and there was plenty of storage space. We looked on to pool which was heated and my children were able to swim in March!! Lovely short walk to the beach and local pub. Would definitely stay here again!!

Thank you for you review. We usually try and get the swimming pool open for 1st April every year but as we had such a nice March weather wise we opened it slightly earlier this year. I am glad you enjoyed the spaciousness of the villas in the Hotel grounds. We have a private footpath down to the beach at Porth which is ideal for families with children. I look forward to welcoming you back to Cornwall and Porth Veor Manor soon.
