My husband booked this hotel for a surprise weekend away. There is parking directly outside the hotel which is reserved and costs 5 pounds a day. The rooms were a little dated ours faced the main road but it had double glazing so we had a very peaceful nights sleep. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The views from the gardens were stunning and i would stay here again.

The terrace area has amazing views and the staff are friendly (but a bit scruffy at times and not always proffessional). The food is excellent value for money and the portions are huge! Our room was small but with our budget we didnt have very high expections. However, the presentation of the hotel needs a lot more care. It very much needs a lick of paint, inside and out, the patio furniture is old and tatty and our room hadnt been hoovered, there was cobwebs between the wardrobe and the wall, the bathroom light flickered on and off and the phone didnt work. These things take care rather than money so it was frustrating to see. I rather feel this hotel is resting on the fact that they are guarenteed customers without having to make much effort.

We booked two nights in a twin room while the boardmasters festival was on....(we also ended up booking a room for the sat night as camping was too crazy!!) we booked through booking.com which worked out cheaper and pre booked parking....which i would def recommend. £5 a night and they put a lil reserve sign with your name which is a nice touch. There is a car park down a side street opposite the hotel thats £2 from 6pm - 9am however its expensive for parking during the day.

the hotel is very average....our room was dated, with a bath - no shower :( you couldnt stand up in it properly as the roof was slanted. it was clean and had everything you might need. we only paid for a standard room but i think if you upgrade it would be worth it for the sea views!!

the location is FAB!! right on the sea front with a LUSH beach just steps away! there is a outside terrace and bar which serves food. we had a lovely breakfast on the morning we left and sat looking out at the beach. our first night we drank the night away in the outside areas....moving to where the patio heaters were as it started to get cold.

we did have a run in with some of the bar staff who were rude but after we filled in comment cards felt like things improved.

the hotel is about a 30 min walk to fistral beach - which is where the boardmasters beach festival was set up. there are plenty of cafes and resturants nearby.

would DEF recommend to all!

Room Tip: ask for a sea view room with a shower

the lobby, bar area and outside sitting area are excelent, our room was not very good but we were offered a different room which was beutiful, but as we only had one night left we didnt bother.the hotel location is ideal. i would definately recommend this hotel
but just beware some rooms do not have a bath but just a small shower, ensure you check on booking.also recommend booking car parking space, but be warned you are not allowed in it till 14.30hrs we travelled 352 miles and got there at 1030 so had to pay in the train station car park till we could take our car to the hotel, but was able to park up there at 1230 after paying for a full 4 hrs. car parking at the hotel is £5.00 a day. the staff were polite and courtious. the weather at newquay when we were there was poor so it was nice to have a nice hotel to have as base. i read on here that there were cheaper places to have a full breakfast ie train station and the wetherspooons, but we found that if you liked your mugs of tea the hotel was the place to be as you could have as much tea or coffee as you liked for no extra charge as long as you ordered the full cornish or english breakfast.. WELL DONE GREAT WESTERN

Room Tip: ask for a premier room if poss

Having left the Travelodge after seeing the room and checking right back out it was so lovely to find this hotel we stayed in room 209 I definately recommend it the view is amazing great hotel the only downside is we didn't have enough milk for the morning for a cup of tea as we had had one on the evening so we called reception to see if we could have some to be told it would be £7 as it would be room service or we could go down to reception and get it but seeing as I had just got out of the shower and boyfriend was in it it was very inconvienient so I think they should address that an leave more in the room or take it to guests rooms frww

Stunning location, the most amazing of views, extremely comfortable beds, perfect room and amazing staff all very reasonably priced. Regretably the nearby beaches attract some late night parties, but this is Newquay.

Overall, this is one of Newquays finest, but remember it is Newquay, and dont blame the hotel.
