Weekend break at the Great Western, stayed in a refurbished superior room, fantastic view over the sea, the room was very large, nicely furnished.B ed was on a double not a king size and not very comfy:( . Nice bathroom with bath and large shower ,( shower pressure was pretty poor ).
Breakfast was not the best quality, and service was so so. Staff on the whole were very nice, bar closes at 11.pm and there is no residents bar, which meant a trip into town for a late drink.
Overall the hotel is very dated and has few facilities, to be fair I expected more noise at night being so close to the town centre, but it was on the whole reasonable quiet. Had reserved parking @ £5 per night so that was not an issue, but parking was very limited.
In summary, not luxury by any means, but adequate, friends stayed in unrefurbished rooms which were small and not nice , nice view over beach , o.k for the priceMore
