My husband, son (9) and I enjoyed our 5 night stay at Sands during the May half term week. Our room was spacious and our son enjoyed having his own room within the family suite. We all enjoyed the pitch and putt, tennis, croquet, games room, indoor and outdoor pools. We loved body boarding at Watergate Bay and Fristal Beach, the hotel lent us body boards, wind break, bucket and spade, all free of charge. We had our own wetsuits but you can borrow those too. We walked to Watergate Bay on one day, fabulous views and great lunch at Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant. We had lovely meals at Sands and relaxing treatments at the Spa. A fabulous 5 days, enjoyed by all three of us. We will be back - thanks a lot.

Room Tip: Lovely sunsets over the sea so book a room with a sea view.

We had a lovely stay at sands. Great food and the baby listening service is amazing! What a great idea and free of charge. The hotel itself is well designed and we will definitely be back! I had a holiday even with a little baby.

Stayed there as a family for one night at the weekend in May 14. It was a great place, especially if you travelling with your little ones. There's so much to do for them including play areas, swimming pools etc. The hotel room was sooo spacious and very comfortable(we had family room) with beautiful views overlooking the bay.
Breakfast was great, lots of food to choose from.
The downside was very early check out-10.30 am. So after you've had your breakfast you kind of have to rush out to leave the room.
One more downside is that the restaurant doesn't serve food until late. We checked in very late just before 9pm and couldn't get a meal at the restaurant. So we quickly had to rush out to find a place in town to eat. And it wasn't very convenient that late with two little ones. On the other hand we had the most delicious food at the the restaurant called Lewwinick's. I'd highly recommend it!

This was my fourth visit to this friendly hotel. Yes, it really is that good! We were warmly greeted by familiar and welcoming staff on reception, who remembered us from previous visits. As usual my room was very spacious and well equipped. The bathroom, fitted with a stylish modern bathroom suite was immaculate. As it has been two years since my last visit, I was impressed to see how much had been updated. As the weather was perfect, I was able to make use of the balcony overlooking the new outdoor plunge pool and shallow paddling pool for children. The warm indoor pool has also had the addition of a steam room. We all enjoyed our time relaxing in here. We ate in the adult section of the restaurant and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. I'm certainly going to try to garnish some of my dishes with pea shoots! (Yum!) We made use of the spa, (but not the well equipped gym this time) spoiling ourselves with several treatments. Having stayed in other hotels where you can pay a fortune for similar treatments, these prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend a pamper session during your stay. The location of this hotel is a real bonus, so close to many beautiful beaches. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Altogether a perfect break again!
