Just returned from short break at the Barrowfield (8-11 Feb). amazing value for money. transport to the hotel, breakfast & evening meal. Food was fine, small full english breakfast but as much cerial, porridge, fruit, toast as you wanted. Evening meal 3 small courses but plenty enough and all tasted nice and well cooked. If I wanted to be critical it would be to say I have heard of 'speed dating' but not 'speed dining'! breakfast between 8am & 8.30am (more like 8 till 8.10am) waitress was brill - maybe in training for the next olympics at the rate everyone was served and cleared away.
Downstairs reception has nice seating area, lovely pool (very warm) jacuzzi & sauna. Nice bar, dance floor and even a beauty salon, plus some fruit machines and table tennis.
Evening entertainment was great fun (a little bit Phenoix nights/working mans club) but everyone seemed to enjoy it - bingo and different entertainers each night.
Our room was a refurbed one to 3* standard with 3 single beds, bathroom was good and all very clean and cleaned daily (many thanks to housekeeping) Pity the view from the window was the ugliest flat roof full of roofing materials(roof blew off prior to us arriving) but for what I paid I didnt expect a view!
The best bit was the lovely people we met - especially (Alan & Sandra) whom we hope to meet up with again on another Daish's trip.
Well done to all staff at the Barrowfield you all worked really hard, and yes alot of improvement to some rooms which were very dated and the roof which still seems to be giving problems to the ceilings on floor 2.
Anyway gets a 5 star rating for me for overall value & enjoyment.

Following recommendations from guests during earlier stays at the Barrowfield, my wife and I enjoyed a great New Year Break (Dec 29- Jan 02) and would like to thank Richard and his team for all their hard work in making the festivities memorable. Our room was clean, tidy and well serviced, the food and staff in the restaurant were very good and entertainment followed the usual high standards.
New Year's Eve was a very entertaining evening and the midnight buffet exceeded expectations.
Two morning trips were offered, one included and one optional. Thanks to Lynn and Dave (Drivers) for their efforts. The location of the hotel means it is easy to get to a variety of places and we were favoured with dry afternoons during our stay. It was a bonus to walk across the beaches into Newquay on New Years Day.
Thanks again for a great break and we look forward to returning during 2013 and visiting other hotels in the group.

Have just returned from short break at this hotel. Food excellent and plentiful, staff very friendly, reasonable accommodation, room was large and clean. Disappointed in evening entertainment. Location good, close to sea, bus stop outside hotel and easy walk into town. EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY.

We have just returned with some friends after enjoying 5 day trip to this hotel. Its not the Ritz we all know that, but considering how much the trip cost we could give nothing but praise for it. The entertainment was 1st class, the food was excellent and the staff very efficient. The only slight critisism was that there was no information about the hotel or trips in our room. In fact there was only one trip available during our stay. We had hoped for more as they were well advertised on Daish's website. We would certainly visit again.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms have been recently done and are better. no sea views available but some have 4 poster beds etc. Our room had not been refurbished but if you didn't look too closely it was fine.

I stayed at this hotel from 22/01/2013 for five days. The staff were very welcoming carried our luggage to our rooms, food was very good and service was quick, the entertainment at night was good, bingo, quiz, and singing and dancing, Also they have recently had a new lift fitted.
rooms were clean , fresh towels and tea making facilities. Bus stop just across the road to take you to Falmouth,Truro, Eden project or you can walk into town. A very good and not expensive short break.

Room Tip: I stayed in room two which was on the ground floor, but was very quiet and no stairs to walk
