“Great stay at a friendly hotel”
Reviewed 20 January 2014

We recently stayed at the Barrowfield for a 4 night break and found the staff to be really helpful and welcoming. We have stayed with Daish's before and find that they have the whole process managed exceptionally well The en suite rooms are clean and comfortable, the menu's are well thought out and while choice is limited the food is tasty, and well cooked and presented. The manager, Richard, was very helpful, nothing seemed to be too much trouble, and the staff were very efficient. We were collected from the midlands by one of their coaches, and the journey to and from Newquay was very smooth. All their coach drivers are very friendly, efficient and professional. If you are thinking of a short break and unsure whether to stay with Daish's or not, I would recommend them and particularly the Barrowfield.

Room Tip: The corner room we had was lovely and bright with a great view over the rooftops and surrounding cou...

Exeptional !! I would like to thank all of the staff and especially the manager for our first taste of a Daishes holiday. My husband had a choking episode at breakfast, thanfully he recovered. The manager Richard reacted immediately, he was extremely caring and professional I cannot thank him enough. The holiday was everything we had hoped for, good food, great entertainment and lovely clean room. We will certainly return. We have told our friends about Daishes and what exceptional value for money, cannot be bettered. (did not use fitness centre or spa so cannot comment on this)

Room Tip: Room 109 on the first floor was easily accessable if you need to use the lift, nice wide corridor if...

Daish are well organised and provide people with a good wholesome holiday in a great destination, rooms are adequate and the staff are trained to help people especially the lady who booked us in and sorts all the hotel rooms/accomodation. The visitors are mainly of the senior age group who enjoy being looked after in this well positioned hotel within the Newquay boundary. We wher self drive by choice as this provided us to visit places of our choice although Daish do run coach trips to popular destinations from the Barrowfield. The food was very good but I thought some restaurant staff, although very efficient, were a bit regimented in their routines. Quix night was a laugh and the Rod Stewart lookalike,Ronnie, was excellent and made our night. New elevator installed since our last visit and all in alll excellent value for money. Thought the Vacuam cleaner could have been used more in the room but thats only a very small point in a 4 night stay!

Absolutely superb break. Have been before with Daish's and it gets better each time. Food was good and right-sized portions for the old folks - wonderful breakfasts, it is help-yourself to cereals and fruit, then the English followed by toast. The waiting staff were polite and efficient with a sense of humour, as were the over-worked reception staff. Really great room - had to turn down the radiator a bit - with a refurbished bathroom and plenty of very hot water. Did not use the pool but heard from others it was very good - a local school uses it as well so it has to be up to the mark.
Room service was excellent and the place was very clean.

We will be back!!

Room Tip: Our room was great except on the bin-man day, but I am not saying which one it was as I want next ti...

Very friendly staff. We could not get our shower to work it was repaired while we were having dinner, impressed! Our room was a bit on the small size, but nicely decorated, the curtains would not join in the middle so had to pin them together which in a way was a shame as they looked quite new. We found the hotel clean. The pool was very warm although it was used by local children after school for swimming lessons which was no problem as you can still use the pool in this time but do keep in mind it is on the small side. The entertainment and food could have been better. You are allocated a table at the beginning and you keep that table for your stay. You order your evening meal at breakfast, which we did not find either a problem. There are set times for meals which do cause some queuing at breakfast. We went with Daish's Holidays there are several trips on offer at approximately £8 each.
