Everything about this hotel is five star. We have just had an amazing 3 night stay. Our bedroom was upgraded to a full sea viewing room - extremely clean, spacious, amazing facilities, comfortable large bed.
Staff were so welcoming! Each and every one of them.
We had breakfast and chose to dine there each day - the service, quality of food, choices, price and environment were second to none.
We usually stay at the sister hotel - Plume of Feathers (which is wonderful!) - now we are going to be stuck for choice :)

A perfect stay in a fantastic location. We’ve stayed in other high rated hotels in Newquay but this smashed them out the park. We had the best views in Room 12, and the best food and cocktails. Caramel Apple Crumble Cocktail the best cocktail we’ve had in a hotel.

The only things I would say:
- is if you wanted a particular room then to phone up as on arrival we were told we were downstairs, but the booking was for Room 1 top floor.
We did question this as but were just told that they have 4 Luxury Rooms and you get any. That was a little disappointing as was just shrugged off, …… but when we walked into the room it was perfect. It could have just been dealt with a little bit more politely and caring, considering you’re paying for a luxury room.

- There was nothing for the bath ie bath salts, and barely any shower gel. But what there was smelt amazing.

Fantastic hotel and Brilliant service in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast.

Room tip: Phone if you want a particular room

Dear Haze H, thank you for taking the time to leave a review after your recent visit. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in one of our Luxury Double rooms celebrating your birthday, had the best food and cocktails. I am sorry to read that you felt a little disappointed on arrival, we definitely can guarantee room types not the room numbers when booking a room, however we are genuinely doing our best to fulfil all guests requests when possible. Very pleased to read that you found Luxury Double room number 12 perfect. Thank you again for your great review and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

My partner and I stayed in one of the luxury double rooms for 3 nights over my birthday and I don't think I've ever stayed in a more luxurious, stunning room. Huge room with an absolutely outstanding view (we even saw seals from the window), bed was huge and the bath overlooking the ocean was something else - complete with epsom salts. We struggled slightly with the pillows being a bit too soft but that's very much personal preference!

We ate dinner in the restaurant on one night and the food was impeccable! Breakfast each morning was also wonderful - highly recommend the Mexican eggs.

I dock one star for a practical reason / recommendation - as lovely as the underfloor heating was, there was only one towel hook in the room (aside from coat hooks near the front door). This meant we had very little space to hang our wet clothing after going on a very soggy walk across the headland one morning and our clothes didn't properly dry out until we left 2 days later. We asked downstairs but they didn't have a clothes rack to offer. A heated towel rail or something to help dry towels or clothing would not go amiss :)
We called down for room service one evening and didn't get an answer and gave up after a few attempts (I think the restaurant was particularly busy that night) and really wasn't such a big deal.

I’m genuinely not understating it when I say that this is the best place my wife and I have stayed in a very long time. The location is superb. Even with bad weather the view is stunning and panoramic views from the majority of the rooms make for a very relaxing experience. The decor in the rooms has been thought about very carefully and both the bed and chairs are very comfortable. We have two dogs, one of which rarely settles when we travel. The fact he was completely chilled and looked at home speaks volumes. In addition to the lodge itself, the staff were incredibly professional and welcoming and the food was superb. We have already made plans to return for a visit.

Room tip: If you’re not a dog lover there are still separate separate areas for dining and relaxing.

Very last minute booking, due to cancellation of original booking elsewhere. So pleased that we ended up here instead, if you are thinking of booking you won’t be disappointed. Spectacular views across the Atlantic, in large comfortable rooms. We had both a free standing bath and walk-in shower in our room, loved that there were epsom salts for the bath! We travelled with our two dogs and staff could not have been more accommodating, they also provided bowls and beds for each of them. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but Breakfast was excellent with plenty of options. Will certainly be back again.
