Description: Welcome to the Official Trip Advisor page of the newly managed and refurbished Quintrell Inn! The Quintrell Inn is a family run public house and restaurant, with excellent facilities for families and children. The main attraction for the younger element is the well equipped ball pool and indoor play area. During the summer months there is a large garden with wooden benches and an outdoor play area which is ideal for a relaxed meal whilst the children play happily. The Quintrell Inn caters for all tastes as the menu covers a wide variety of dishes and homemade specials including a range of healthy options. All food is cooked to order and we pride ourselves on using local produce. We also offer gluten free options for all our meals including our carvery - a hard to find trait in the restaurant world. Our carvery is open every day offering a choice of 2 meats Monday to Saturday and 3 meats on Sundays. Children can enjoy our meal deal options for £5.50 Including a drink, main course AND dessert from our childrens menu - good value for good food! It is advisable whenever possible to book early to avoid disappointment. Live entertainment features regularly throughout the year with artists visiting from around the country. For those special occasions there is a large restaurant catering for weddings, funerals, christenings and parties. Relax in our lounge area with leather sofas, TV and open fire. Take part in the popular games of pool or darts, The Quintrell Inn has also recently acquired a darts and pool team who compete across the local area. The Quintrell Inn enjoys a friendly community spirit, and welcomes all, young or old. Our doors are open and we will look forward to your custom.

The carvery was good despite it having sat there for a while. Behind the counter staff are also pleasant. Waiting staff seem like they don't like their jobs. Perhaps it's the horrid purple attire they are made to wear, like they are cleaning staff in a hospital, or perhaps they really couldn't give a damn about customer service. Plates cleared away before the rest of the party were finished; table sticky; they sat us down and it turned out you order at the bar and then sit down yet they sat us down and then walked away. No menus offered to us. To keen to clean the tables away for other guests. So we waited patiently for them to finish cleaning, and then asked the question 'how does this work?' are you taking an order, do we pay at the end and just queue up at the carvery.

The carvery server is equally 'couldn't give a damn'. It was a massive imposition to take the lids off the carvery food. The spoons for serving were thrown in each metal tub. Watched him take that tune with us and the people who went up afterwards - so yeah, good food, crap service. Too bad really. Little point trying again as this seems systemic.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your review.

It is our policy to refresh our carvery every two hours. With regards to the purple shirts am afraid it is part of my staffs uniform maybe the description you have given is personally your view.
Sticky table situation, they have just been re varnished that’s all.
I shall be having to the staff in question.

We visited as a family of eight with an age range from grandparents to a toddler. We were very glad we booked for Sunday evening as we saw many people turned away. Food was ok for a carvery with Turkey, pork and beef as the meat choices. Most of us choose the beef and the first few had slices from the end of one joint which was lovely, others from the start of the next and they couldn't eat them. The deserts however all went down very well. The little one loved the ball pool and the outside play equipment.

The staff are friendly, service very quick and the food was good though the potatoes were a bit hard and cold which is why I give 4/5 as room for improvement. Having said that I left satisfied and so stuffed my misses had to roll me out on a wheelbarrow! Also, if you have desert make sure you have the lemon crunch ice cream!! It's AMAZING!

This public house has a long history and heritage as being a focal point for the community and holidaymakers alike.
This is all now long gone, its décor makes it feel dirty and grotty, the food is extremely average and in my opinion the carvery very poor, the misuse and poor design is an unnecessary travesty to a very suitable premises.
Having said all that it was busy enough and locals seemed happy, but there was a strange and tainted atmosphere here somehow.
