“Great Family beach.”
Reviewed 8 November 2013

Porth has a great history over the last couple of centuries. Fishing, boatbuilding, porth Island and the Roman history of Defence circles and burial mounds (Tumuli) .
It is a great beach for children and families where they can play safely.
There is lifeguard servive during the summer months.
And food and refreshment are easily accessable.

“great little beach”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

the beach was a stone throw away and the beach is very nice and a couple of places where you could go eat like the mermaid inn or the tapas bar...either way the beach was a lovely attraction on its own and a good place to spend a day

“More to this Beach than meets the eye”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

Just outside Newquay, but a real beach experience. When the tide is out this is an enormous area with rock pools and sheltered spaces. When the tide is in it is a safe sandy beach. For the adventurous, when the tide is out walk under the island bridge to Whipsederry beach and all the way to Watergate bay, come back across the cliffs. When the tide is in stand on the island bridge and watch the waves crashing through the rocks. The Mermaid pub on the beach is a great place with a fantastic Sunday buffet and there is a small Tapis Bar across the road -o over fourteens only.
