We were a party of 10 that stayed at this hotel at the end of October. We all had a wonderful time. The hotel was in an excellent location for the town and the beach. The food was good and always plenty of selections to choose from. I must mention Alan who entertained us for most nights and must mention Alan's version of 'Cornish Bingo' I have never laughed so much in a very long time, he is brilliant. All the staff were very friendly and very helpful. The hotel was very clean and the room very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.

I should also give a mention to Gibbons Travel who we booked with, the coach was excellent and very comfortable, our driver David looked after us very well and the whole party were very friendly and this all helped to make a very good holiday.

Room Tip: As there is no lift it may be a good idea to request a ground floor or first floor room.

A party of 10 - middle age - had a great time at this hotel. Owners and staff very friendly and helpful. Good location for town and beach. Food was always served very hot and a choice of dishes. We had great fun with Alan who entertained us until we ached from so much laughter. He is a gem with great charisma!! Would certainly recommend a stay there - you wont be disappointed.

Room Tip: Choose either ground floor or first as there is no lift if you have difficulty with stairs

Went with Travelstyle for the first time in August. Very well organised hotel with very attentive staff who couldn,t do enough for you. Hotel in good position only a few minutes walk to the shopping centre and sea. We had booked a twin room with a sea view. The room given had both a single and double bed and although clean it was incredibly small (more like a small double but with an extra bed). the food was ok but we had to order breakfast and evening meals the day before. The manager was most helpful and very approachable. We would recommend this hotel especially for the very friendly atmoshphere of the staff.

Second time we have stayed at the Glendeveor Hotel, Newquay and I’m afraid it wasn't as good as the first time which was in 2011. It was a better experience all round with more quality staff, better meals & atmosphere.

However The Glendeveor Hotel is friendly, clean, and in a great easy access location to the town & beaches of Newquay.

Meals were ok I guess as was the entertainment, staff. All depends what you are looking for in a hotel experience. My main advice is it’s OK/Average but do try to get it cheaper than say, £150 for a 5 Day Coach Trip Deal. Anymore you’ll be disappointed I’m afraid.

Had a great time and a laugh but that was with the coach party especially Jo & Andy. Thanks to the lady with the “Yogurt Tip” for my sunburn as well. Worked a treat.

The hotel is in a great location and Newquay has an excellent bus service. TIP: get the Bus to Truro £4.50 (Return) unless you’re a Coffin Dodger. Well worth a trip and much better than dull Perranporth or Polperro of which most coach companies drag you to as an excursion.

NOTE: - Before reviewing any HOTEL on TripAdvisor note you are actually reviewing the HOTEL & not the coach company, train service or other transport you traveled with. This should have no bearing on the actual hotel review.

DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THE COACH COMPANY! Oh Dear Me!

Went 26th August with Travelstyle. Comfortable coach and very professional driver from Solus Coaches. Staff friendly and helpful, rooms very clean and well appointed, beds very comfortable. Good central location. Food generally good, although we would give the Fish and Chips a miss next time. Have them mid-day in town from a proper fish & chip shop and have the very popular and excellent salad at the hotel that night. Good professional entertainment was provided every night by artistes, with the resident compere Alan on one night. All in all, a hotel where the owners strive to give their customers good value for their money. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Quite a few ground floor rooms are available here.

We have just returned from holiday at the Glendeveor. This hotel was the best by far of the hotels we have stayed at from numerous 5 day coach holidays we have taken. We were made very welcome from the moment we arrived. The room no.15 was great, the staff were always friendly and the atmosphere first class. May I convey our thanks to John and his wife. We enjoyed the meals both breakfast and evening. The drink prices were more than reasonable, so now onto the entertainment. No matter who the artist/e was either singing or joking, it made no difference they were all excellent. The owner John warned us upon arrival that we would not forget Alan, how right he was. This man reminded us of the Cornish comedian Jethro and made a game of Bingo last for some 30 to 40 minutes and it was hilarious. The whole holiday was superb. (thank you Travelstyle) ant it enabled us to meet some wonderful people .In conclusion we would given the chance return. Finally sincere thanks to owners John and Debbie.

Room Tip: We had room no 15 I believe some other rooms were smaller, ours was spacious.

We stayed in this hotel in July as it was a last minute booking, I think we might have been the youngest people ever to stay at the hotel (late 20's) judging by how the owner felt he had to stress to us that we must look after the key and musn't lose it, very patronising. He informed us that breakfast was between 8.45 and 9, if we were later then we couldn't have any and we were to be out of the hotel by 10, 10.15 latest, I don't know if he just assumed as we were younger that we'd be out partying all night and would be hungover the next morning...which was not the case! The room itself looked like a prison cell, with old wooden shelves nailed scruffily on the wall and the ceiling paper was peeling off in the corner. There was one random chair in the corner which looked scruffy and old and added to the prison cell look. The bed itself was the hardest I have ever slept in, I woke with a bad back and shoulder. We were told to leave the room key at reception whenever we left the hotel and then if someone was there when we got back they would hand it to us, otherwise we'd have to get it ourselves, which means that everyone else must also do this. Once I have paid to stay in a room, I don't expect to leave my key so anyone can access it when I have left all my stuff in there!! Breakfast was a selection of cereals in big plastic storage boxes with the tiniest glasses for juices, it was like a shot glass. I also don't think the table cloths are washed after every use as they looked like there was dried food on them. You ordered the cooked breakfast by ticking on a list what you wanted, it has to be the tightest breakfast I have ever seen, you literally had one of everything served on a small plate, on a picky note, it would have been nice to have the option of mushrooms, but that's the least of this places worries. We came back thinking we'd have a drink the night we stayed and the entertainment consisted of some man singing some old music (badly) and waving his hands in the air to get the crowd of what looked like about 6 elderly people involved, they all looked bored though. My boyfriend refused to even enter there, even though all we wanted was a drink, so we had to pop back down to the tescos to buy some drinks and sat in the room. I will not be returning to this place and would not recommend anyone does, especially if you are under 60.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere.
