Owner description: Set in lush sub-tropical gardens, Newquay Zoo is home to more than 1,000 of the world's rare and exciting creatures. Just a short walk from Newquay's town centre and world famous surfing beaches, the Zoo is both one of Cornwall's most exciting visitor attractions and a leading conservation charity. It's the only place in Cornwall where you can see lions devour their lunch before taking a leisurely stroll through a tropical rainforest, surrounded by free flying birds. Keeper talks and animal feeds take place throughout the day but if you fancy an even closer animal encounter we offer visitors the chance to meet and feed our cheeky lemurs, friendly penguins and impossibly cute meerkats! See wildebeest, waterbuck, nyala antelope and zebra roaming in our African Savannah and enjoy some familiar faces in The Village Farm - one of our most popular exhibits which includes many children's favourites such as pot-bellied pigs, African pygmy goats, turkeys and striped squirrels. And if all that isn't enough to keep the kids amused, we also have activity trails, face painting, a children's play area, dragon maze...and much more. Besides enjoying a great family day out, when you visit Newquay Zoo you'll also be supporting our vital education, research and conservation work, all designed to protect endangered animals from extinction. We're playing a key role in the international effort to save animals through conservation breeding.

Not normally a thing I would bother to visit but this zoo was fantastic all the cages where fantastic sizes and gave the animals no matter how big or small a great place to live they really try to make it as normal to the animal as they can, really great day out and if your staying a few days or a week go at the beginning as once you have paid you can re visit for up to a week brilliant if you have children

This was our first visit to Newquay Zoo. We found the zoo to be pretty compact but considering the size there was a good range of animals to see, from lions, monkeys, snakes, poison tree frogs and penguins and many more in between. It was well kept and we found it to be clean and tidy. They do have a car park (I understand they charge £6 a day) but we decided to park free of charge in the roadside near by and walk a few hundred meters to the entrance. We took a picnic so didn't buy anything from the food outlets inside but many people did. A good day out.

We went on a day trip to the Zoo , we had great expectations from this Zoo as we read it was the biggest in Newquay.
The Zoo is Ok. I wouldn't say it is great considering we have been to other Zoo's in UK.
But a good day out for kids.
