Owner description: Set in lush sub-tropical gardens, Newquay Zoo is home to more than 1,000 of the world's rare and exciting creatures. Just a short walk from Newquay's town centre and world famous surfing beaches, the Zoo is both one of Cornwall's most exciting visitor attractions and a leading conservation charity. It's the only place in Cornwall where you can see lions devour their lunch before taking a leisurely stroll through a tropical rainforest, surrounded by free flying birds. Keeper talks and animal feeds take place throughout the day but if you fancy an even closer animal encounter we offer visitors the chance to meet and feed our cheeky lemurs, friendly penguins and impossibly cute meerkats! See wildebeest, waterbuck, nyala antelope and zebra roaming in our African Savannah and enjoy some familiar faces in The Village Farm - one of our most popular exhibits which includes many children's favourites such as pot-bellied pigs, African pygmy goats, turkeys and striped squirrels. And if all that isn't enough to keep the kids amused, we also have activity trails, face painting, a children's play area, dragon maze...and much more. Besides enjoying a great family day out, when you visit Newquay Zoo you'll also be supporting our vital education, research and conservation work, all designed to protect endangered animals from extinction. We're playing a key role in the international effort to save animals through conservation breeding.

Great range of animals, sweet little zoo. I thought value for money was great. Especially since you could go back in the week without paying again. We didn't eat at the zoo so can't comment on that. Overall I though it was a lovely set up, with well kept animals

Had a very pleasant day out here, a good selection of animals that mostly seem happy in their surroundings, although some of the enclosures seem a little small.

Didn't like the fact you have to pay for parking, think this is a bit naughty with admission charge.

Plenty of picnic facilities and good play areas

We went for a day to new quay zoo and we had a great time. There were plenty of talks throughout the day as well as feeding the animals. All the animals look very healthy and the entire Zoo was spotless. We especially liked the lion area because you could go right up the lions and only be a piece of glass away from the jaws of a lion was a great experience. We also had lunch in the restaurant there and it was all very fresh and tasty if a little on the steep side but overall a great day out for adults and kids alike :)

Newquay zoo is not too big .There are lots of well kept animals there including Lions and Meercats which the children love .Some pleasent relaxing gardens to relax in too.I would advise to take a picnic as the snack bar is quite expensive .There are plenty of suitable areas to sit but not many places to shelter if the weather is wet .All in all a good few hours and worth a visit .Pensioners recieve a discount and also the disabled .You can also purchase a family ticket and can use it for 7 days .

I was staying in Newquay for a week with my boyfriend and this was the highlight of both our weeks! The Zoo is easy to get to, well kept and bigger than we expected. The talks and animal feeds were excellent and fascinating to watch. With a little bit of patience, we saw all the animals up really close. We could return for a week with our tickets and we made the most of this, with an equally as great trip the second time round.
Only criticism is that the food is a little pricey, but does not detract from the excellence of the Zoo.
