“Great fishing”
Reviewed 14 April 2013 via mobile

Really had a great time, lots to do for wife and little one who are not so keen on fishing. Time to visit Newquay and nice to fish a match or two. Tackle shop was well stocked and nice to have a cafe by the lake

This site has new caravans which are immaculately clean. The indoor pool is good and the entertainment in the clubhouse excellent-especially for children. The shop on the site is well stocked and reasonably priced. Two things let the site down-Bar staff are very poor, they disappear regularly so service is at times none existent. When you are on holiday the last thing you need is to wait an eternity at the bar!. Secondly the toilets in the clubhouse are a disgrace. Paper towels are strewn everywhere, no sign of Management checking. Haven't Park Dean heard of hot air hand driers. Overall a site to be recommended if you are taking children- possibly avoid if you are not. Management need to get a grip on the above mentioned matters.

Room Tip: Check site map -some caravans are a long way from facilities

We stayed here for the Easter weekend and found it to be quite a nice place, caravan was of a good size and standard and clean.
There was plenty of play areas for the kids.

The only thing that lets it down is feels a bit short staffed and disorganised, examples are bar and chippy, felt like you was forever queuing

All in all nice park

We stayed at white acres and had a great time. We use it as a base for travelling around the south west. I would recommend staying in an owners caravan as they are more up to date than fleet vans and are quite a bit cheaper than booking through parkdean.
It is a paradise for fishermen/women and my husband and boys are in heaven, while I enjoy travelling around with my daughter.
The site is quiet and although we're not keen on the entertainment in the clubhouse we enjoy the Bingo. The restaurant can be good on one day and not so good on another but had no problems on this visit.

Me & my husband stopped here during march for 1 week, when we first arrived we were allocated a caravan near the entrance number ninty something, right away i was a little concearned as the road was very noisy, we went in to the caravan and sat on the bed, the road was so noisy so before un packing we returned to reception, when i told them about the noise they said they didnt normally have a problem with the traffic noise from those caravans... i find this very hard to believe!

Any way the staff were very helpful and the gentleman offered us another caravan further on down the park, we were allocated a brand new caravan, porth make new for 2013! It was lovely inside, everything was new & spotlessly clean, good size tv, good size shower, bedrooms were very small, but fire was nice & easy to use, and the heating was easy to operate.

The park itself is well maintained, clean and my husband enjoyed fishing the lakes, there was matches on so be careful, always check before booking! This is the second time we have stayed at this site now, the facilites are good but the fish & chip shop could be so much better, its not proper chips & when you go to a fish & chip shop you expect proper chips, these were more like frozen steak chips, very disapointing. The food in the main restaurant was very tasty & the waitressing team were very friendly & helpful.

A good size pool, with a jacuzzi & gym, the gym is very small with a low celing, it was okay but the machinery needs updating, very stiff to operate, also there was alot of spotlights, the heat coming from them was stupid!

My husband found the on site tackle shop pricey for some things, your better of taking pellets, corn with you, they could also be a little more helpful.

All in all a good break away, my husband is hoping to return in the summer.

Room Tip: ask to be kept away from main road at top of park

March 2013 we once again made the 7 hour journey to White Acres near Newquay. As always the fishing was excellent for my husband and this never disappoints whatever time of year we go to this site. Really is a fisherman's paradise.

On arrival the reception team were very helpful. The receptionist informed me that we had been moved to a different log cabin/lodge with recent upgrades and a proper bed taking on board the complaints I made the previous year. On arrival at the log cabin we were not disappointed. Considering the weather conditions we had traveled through and the cold the cabin was very warm and cosy. The kitchen had been given a much needed upgrade as well as new appliances, cutlery, crockery etc. The cabin was clean. The beds had new quilts, crisp white bedding and new large white fluffy towels. A huge improvement to the previous year. The cabin had also new wood effect flooring with rug and the grubby carpet had been removed. I thanked the reception staff for taking on my feedback from the previous year. Hopefully year on year improvements will meet customers expectations in the future.
The views from the park are always very nice and it was very peaceful. As always my teenagers love the freedom the park offers and the entertainment at night. You can choose either.
During our stay we had an emergency where an ambulance was required the information in the hand book in the cabin was very informative for numbers, directions to hospital etc. The reception staff was once again very helpful and the housekeeping staff also came to check any problems with cabin etc. Overall this year things were much improved.

Love Cornwall anyway,

We have been to whiteacres 5 times in the last 2 years, we are going back in may.

We love this place so much we are thinking about buying are own caravan.

First time we went we stayed in a log cabin, which was a bit pricey. Second time we stayed in a park dean caravan, times after that' we googled privately owned caravans, which worked out cheaper .

Me and my partner fish so the 13 lakes were great for us, we try and fish for big fish with our biggest being 65lb cat. . Not sure to much about the night life on site but they do have a bar,

We have never had a problem with this site. Including guess everyone seems to be friendly.

I have read bad reviews about the guys who work in the tackle shop, all the guys are great and friendly, bar one! Who is Match fisherman don't think he likes carp fishers! :-/ he wasn't very helpful,

I would highly recommend this place, to fishing people and none fishing people with family's .

Room Tip: I would google privately owned caravans. Rather than going through park dean
