It was our first time in Newquay, but the 3rd time in Cornwall. The Carlton is definitely on of the best B&B we stayed. Very friendly, fantastic atmosphere and amazing rooms. Great breakfast. If we come back to Newquay we will definitely go to the Carlton B&B again.

I am quite particular where I stay and always check reviews on Trip Advisor. Hence we chose this hotel for our 4 day stay rather than the hotel where the wedding we were attending was being held! We were given a very warm welcome from both Debbie and Mark. Mark carried our bags upstairs (wonderful) whilst Debbie checked us in. The hotel is immaculate and it is obviously their pride and joy and quite rightly so. We had a sea view room as requested and it was beautifully decorated although Debbie did say that she will be re- decordating it ready for next year. Nothing is too much trouble. Debbie is in the forefront all day every day and is a very warm and friendly person. Breakfast was delicious and unhurried. The hotel has its own bar and has a small outside patio area.
Debbie has collated a list of bars and good places to eat recommended by herself or other guests. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk downhill into the centre of Newquay. At the bottom of the hill is a Sainsburys supermarket. The hotel is just minutes from beautiful cliff top walks with access to a small beach. We wish to thank both Debbie and Mark for a lovely welcoming stay.

The hotel was beautiful. We were looked after brilliantly by Mark and Debra. Nothing was too much trouble! Drying wetsuits or swim suits, lending us beach towels and the restaurant recommendations they gave us were great.

This Hotel was everything we wanted. Hotel owners could not do enough for us. Rooms were super clean, spacious and well decorated. Breakfast in a morning was excellent with plenty of choice and changing options on a daily basis was not an issue. Loaction is great for all, far enough from town to be quite and relaxed but only a 2 min stroll to all the action or beaches ( take the additional parking option). The Lounge and Bar were also perfect as a base to start or end an evening. I'm a Newquay veteran and stay in a lot of hotels through work. This was one of if not, the best I've ever stayed in. Lee, 37, Ilkeston.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view for a additional little bonus

The only thing that would improve it would be a king size bed in the double rooms and I personally found the bed too soft. Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel and will go back (to a room with a king size bed)>

Having stayed at this hotel 24 years ago we found it to be more than adequate then, however we decided to go back this year and what a transformation this hotel is beautiful with up to date facilities, grreat rooms, breakfast fabulous and the hosts Debra and Mark who were so welcoming couldn't do enough to make your stay a pleasure indeed. The situation of the hotel at the top near the headland was quiet and the views were excellent over the Towan Beach. What they provided for the all round cost was excellent value and would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends, my husband and myself will definately go back and would definately stay there. I would like to add that next door was a pay & display car park and would have cost at least £7 to £8 per day but the hotel provide parking permits for £2.50 a day.

So glad we picked The Carlton to stay at, travelled with husband, father in law and husband's aunt and uncle.
Prior to arrival, Debbie was a pleasure to deal with by email and phone, and arranged car park passes at £2.50 a day at car park next to guest house, do not leave car unattended as we seen others get clamped whilst collecting their car park pass.
Check in and check out were dealt with very efficently by Debbie while Mark took all cases up to our rooms
Accommodation is immaculate with lots of quality finishing touches.
Close enough to beach, town, bars and restaurants (10 mins) for you to be able to park up for duration of your stay
Debbie dried our wet clothes after day at beach, free of charge, we didn't even have to ask. Seen others being given complimentary beach towels to borrow (we had our own but needn't have packed them)
Beautiful, relaxing terrace to sit out on and enjoy a nightcap after or as sun goes down
Mark cooks all the breakfasts to order - delicious
Lots of local knowledge and tips readily given by Debbie and Mark, a lovely couple sho clearly love their place and do their very best for their guests
Highly recommend the Carlton to all, ww will definitely stay there again next time we are in Newquay

Room Tip: Room 8 - generous room with great view
