Stayed with my family for two nights whilst on a visit from Australia. A warm welcome, great location bang in the middle of town. Clean and modern with character, comfy double bed, heaps of pillows, fan, iPod dock, fridge & a great ensuite. Tasty breakfast. Lounge with library, Playstation & DVDs to loan. Thoroughly recommend if your are staying in Newquay

A lovely guesthouse with many extras such as DVDs, games consoles and free in room Wi FI.
The room was very well decorated, and the bed very comfortable, the shower cubicle was quite tight, but did the job.
Louise and John are perfect hosts, service and breakfast choice were both excellent, would put many 4 star hotels to shame.
A short stroll takes you to Bus and Train Stations and the Town centre is almost on your doorstep.
My wife and I had a brilliant time, and would highly recommend St Bernards.

Room Tip: Rooms at rear of hotel are quieter

A very nice guesthouse with many extras such as DVDs and games consoles available. Everything was a bit measured though, somehow, rather than generous. My room, a double, was just big enough for the bed; the only place to put my suitcase and be able to open it (just!) was in front of the window, which was also the only place big enough to stand to get dressed. It's a good job there was only one of me because if one person was standing the other person would have to have been on the bed or in the tiny weeny shower room! But I could have gone down to the lounge if I'd wanted to swing a cat.
If the room had been a bit bigger this would be a much better review.

Thank you for your comments. The room that was allocated to you is our smallest room and is only ever sold for single occupancy. I appreciate that you didn't book our hotel yourself because it was booked via a walking holiday but they did only ask us for a single occupancy room and the price is reflected as such.

I hope you enjoyed the rest of your walking holiday,

We have stayed at St Betnards many times and it is always perfect. The rooms are decorated to a high standard and very comfortable. Louise and John are fantastic hosts and nothing is ever too much trouble. Breakfast is always fantastic and there's always so much choice. We had yet another fabulous stay and look forward to returning very soon.

This guesthouse is a hidden gem, not only is it low cost, clean, fresh and cosy, they provide an amazing service, breakfast is delicious, the owners are very friendly and helpful but the thing that won me over was that they are dog friendly!!

I would highly recommended this place to friends and family.

If you are in two minds about whether to book a room here, I would say go for it as you will not be disapppointed!!!

We stayed at St. Bernards for one night while walking the south coast path. Louise and John were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and very helpful with local information. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We slept well and started off our next day of hiking with a large cornish breakfast.
