Andrew made us feel welcome and at ease. He was very knowledgable about local beaches and attractions. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Central to all beaches & amenities, would definitely stay there again.

Everything was great about this B&B. Andrew, Judith and Miriam were friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable. Love the breakfast. Centrally located. Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Newquay.

Lovely hotel, very quiet and clean. We were left to our own devises most of the time, which was nice, the breakfast was great, the staff were very helpful with what we wanted for breakfast, close to the seaside which made life easy - no taxi needed!

Thank you very much!

Meg & Jay.

My husband and I stayed at Silver Jubilee for four nights (too many) in November. We found the place very uncomfortable and disappointing right from the beginning. First off, the place has like 3 NO VACANCY signs even though it's deserted. We later read online that this is to keep young party animals from booking in and trashing the place. Fair enough, if that's your business model. Anyways, we turned up and we're pretty young so when they opened the door they looked like they wanted to tell us to get lost and seemed pretty disappointed when we said that we did have a reservation. Andy then fussed around for ages telling us how to turn the lights on and off, telling us at great length about breakfast ect. ect. It felt like we were staying with relatives who don't want you there but feel like they have to let you stay.
The whole place smells of meatloaf and the rooms are pretty poky and small but we weren't too fussed by that. The breakfast is also awful but since you can get cheap all day full english everywhere in Newquay it wasn't the end of the world. We just gave it a miss, which seemed to annoy our hosts.
After the first night we came home from breakfast and got accused of coming home drunk and leaving the door open. We did not leave the door open or make any noise coming in but got an eye roll instead of an apology. It made us feel even more uncomfortable and we felt it was very unprofessional to make comments like that on account of us being younger.
We also didn`t like that the guesthouse is essentially Andy and Judith`s house. They are always there, puttering around, having friends over ect. The area in the front room that is advertised as a common area is full of their stuff and doesn`t feel like a place you could relax in. It again just feels like staying in someone`s home who you don`t know.
Overall, we don`t recommend it to anyone but especially anyone younger who doesn`t want to be made feel like misbehaving teenagers! There are many guesthouses in Newquay so give your business to somewhere that doesn`t age discriminate!

We were most upset to read that these Guests did not enjoy their stay with us but feel however we must reply. Firstly there is only one No Vacancy sign and far from being deserted there were three other rooms occupied whilst they were with us. 4 out of 7 = 55% full. In November for a summer holiday Town? We would also be interested to find out where there is the mention on our website of 'Party Animals' trashing our rooms.
Yes, I admit that I do point out where the timer switch is for the top floor landing lights as we walk past because it is on the floor below but this is far from 'fussing around for ages', Also I admit that I point out the information book in the room which amongst other things has the breakfast menu in it. I would like to take the opportunity to point out that I have NEVER cooked Meatloaf for breakfast, however you can smell the bacon grilling in the morning; most people like this.
When I find the front door wide open at 6am. and Guests telling me that someone was walking about trying the doors at 4am. I feel I have the right to ask ALL who are staying here, at what time they came home from the night club. Whatever age they are!
We also think we have to make you aware that people who stay in a "Guest House" want the experience of being a "Guest" in someone's "House", rather than just a room number in an Hotel!
Fire regulations stipulate that when we have Guests one of us has to be on the premises 24/7, even if this does look like pottering about. Also when a guest needs help with planning a day trip we take them into the Lounge where we keep maps and brochures. Sometime they just want to have a chat to us too. The Sofa, easy chairs and pictures on the walls are not "OUR STUFF" but belong to the Guest House.
I wonder how many of our younger guests, (both past and present,) reading Ms.Mogg's comments will wonder how 'The Dude' managed to upset them so.

Close to the seafront, short walk to the shops and attractions such as Buccaneer Bay. Tourist information just round the corner too. Breakfast was lovely. The rooms were perfect, cannot fault in any way. The fudge sweets on the pillows were a nice touch! Julie and Andrew were very friendly and accommodating. Even got a little gift as we left! Thank you for a lovely stay. :D
