“Great B&B”
Reviewed 17 May 2010

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of March 09 – we took advantage of their 3 nights for the price of 2 – great value for money in my opinion. We stayed in the Chicama room at the top of the house, the room was lovely, it had great rustic furniture, fantastic local artwork and we loved the DVD player – was great for a rainy afternoon with a cuppa! Andy told us about a great local pub – we went there twice! Jan did a great breakfast; we loved the homemade bread and the jams from a nearby farm, she was so helpful answering all our questions too. The B&B is only a few minutes walk from the town and the beaches. We were a little put off by no door on the bathroom but in the end it was fine and didn’t make any difference at all. We had a wet room which was great. All-in-all a lovely B&B with great people running it, lovely rooms and fantastic furniture and artwork.

An excellent welcome from the owners and an amazing breakfast. I took myself to St Ives for the day which was a highlight of my short trip, the cornish coast is stunning.

Although we were made very welcome by the owner there were many aspects of our stay that were disappointing - the website states that if you want bedding and towels changed more than twice a week to let them know, which we thought was fine as we were only staying for 5 nights. Unfortunately neither the towels or bedding were changed at all during our stay, the bathroom wasn't cleaned once, nor was the room hoovered! The parking was a nightmare as we had to move our car before 10am every morning - breakfast service wasn't available until after 9am so instead of a leisurely breakfast which we would have liked on holiday everything was rushed to avoid parking fines. Also, avoid the room in the attic if you are tall as my husband and I lost count of the number of times we banged our heads on the beams!

My partner and I have just spent a fantastic weekend in Newquay and we can honestly say that one of the highlights was finding this small, but stylish guesthouse. A lot of care had gone into the decor of our room, it was immediately inviting, artistically decorated and we felt very welcomed.
Breakfast was delicious, there was so much choice which seemed to cater for everone's taste. We had the full English and can definitely recommend it. This is a perfect place to go for a romantic weekend.

Jan and Andy are some of the nicest people you could meet. They were very helpful and room was very clean and modern.
Just a few minutes walk and your at bars shops and restaurants.
The breakfast was fab and at a good time til 10 am at weekends, the only thing that was missing for me being female was no dressing table ,so was a bit tricky with hairdryer and straightners stood up but everything else was great. would recommend for couples, families

B&b was very central. Room was nice and clean but not really suitable for a couple as one of you had to climb over the other to get out of bed (we stayed in Elands) & the lack of a door on the bathroom! Breakfast was the highlight & the homemade bread was delicious.

The hotel is in a great location and yes, you do get a warm welcome. I have to agree about the privacy in the bedroom when it comes to the bathroom ........... you definetly need to be a close couple to stay here!

Andy was very welcoming (but don't think he looks like Swayze unless you've had too much wine lol) but sensed an atmosphere of stress about the place. Mainly from his wife Jan i would say.

Stayed for one night.
