“Awesome Experience”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

We stayed for 2 nights at the beach house that goes by the name Poldhu. Really awesome view, extremely helpful staff.... the kitchen, the master bed room, the drawing room, the other two rooms (although slightly smaller) were great.

If only they could put more white lights in the bathroom on the ground floor. The balcony faces the ocean and you can sit and sip a nice tea..while enjoying the beautiful atlantic ocean...

very clean beach, suitable for kids as well!

My boyfriend and I visited Tolcarne and stayed in one of the beach cabins, we were so impressed with the location, views and the overall condition of the accommodation. The cabin was spotless. We were able to walk into Newquay town, just a short walk from Tolcarne. The Breaks restaurant (which is just a few metres away from the cabin) had amazing food, incredible views especially during the sunset and excellent service. We were also impressed with the security guard who walks around the beach and the cabins at night which is very reassuring!

Overall a fantastic weekend away, we can't wait to visit again in the near future!!

It is a brilliant apartments with the sea view isolated from city and it's noise, which makes it really nice to relax and enjoy sound of waves. Apartments are nice and tidy everything in good condition warm design and comfy beds. Enjoyed my stay here, almost forgot I was in England.

Beautiful apartment with the most stunning location. The apartment was immaculate and so clean! Lovely, helpful staff. Even a cream tea waiting for us in our apartment on arrival!! My children hired wet suits and body boards from the on site shop and the member of staff was so helpful. Could not fault our stay here at all! Would definitely holiday here again without a doubt!!!

We did not stay in the apartments, but the wonderful cabins, right on the beach. They are small, but beautifully decorated and warm and cosy. The beach is in a small, quiet cove with little bother from anyone but a couple of surfers, most of whom prefer Newquay main beach. The cabins have a wonderful restaurant on site, The Breaks, that uses local produce, fresh fish and has a great outside terrace to watch the waves crash by. Peaceful, relaxing, with superb staff (especially Katie and Terry) mean we will certainly be back. The cabins are a 10 minute walk from the station and there is quite a steep road down to the site or you can use a set of steps (about 150). A perfect way to spend a long weekend, even if you don't surf!

Room Tip: Don't miss The Breaks for dinner, but make sure you book on the day! The Venus cafe does a great...

As other reviewers have already mentioned this is an idyllic location, crystal clear sea and clean beach. The beach cabins are a relatively new addition, a self contained hut on the beach with its own ensuite. Near perfection. The Breakers restaurant staff and food are excellent, truly no need to leave the beach if you do not want to. The only downside and this was a big downside for us as the tranquil location was utterly spoilt by the use of the beach by the local colleague holding various sporting events directly next to the huts. The local college own a facility next to the huts, and on what was to be the warmest day of our week the local colleague held several sporting events lasting well into the afternoon. We had had no advance warning of the event and had planned to enjoy the beautiful location and spend the day on the beach directly outside our hut. Whilst the staff were most apologetic and helpful in trying to compensate it didn't lessen the disappointment. This is an idyllic location, the views are amazing and the sunset spectacular but the last 2 days of our break were sorely interrupted by these colleague events, something that I couldn't find any mention of in any of the other reviews. If this is something that doesn't bother you then I would highly recommend this beautiful and unique location. Waking up to the sound of the sea and being located directly on the beach is a truly magical experience. I suggest that if you plan to spend a quiet day on the beach you check with the staff what events are being held before hand as we were not advised by the staff in advance, which was the only negative thing about our vacation. A truly wonderful location that I am glad we had the opportunity to experience, just a shame that this idyllic location wasn't as relaxing as it had the potential to be for the last 2 days of our stay.
