I stayed at Glencree House as a result of a referral from the US guidebook series by Rick Steves that said tha t this was a good B and B that also did not allow dogs--a strong selling point to me as I can't be around dogs. I would note that this is not the closest B and B for railway travelers as it is close to the edge of town but this is relative as the taxi ride is relatively short. The owner was very welcoming and also very accommodating of my need for an early departure as my purpose for traveling to the area was to ride branch railway lines and had to meet someone who came down to Cornwall by sleeper train.

Glencree House is a marvelous B&B, one of the top places we stayed during a 3 week trip. Our room was huge, with a wonderfully comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of selection and choices, from tasty granola with local yogurt to the full English breakfast. Lynsey and Andrew were very helpful and friendly, and their selection of local guidebooks was a great resource. Parking is on the street, but we never encountered any trouble with it and were able to park right in front of the B&B. The only drawback was that our bathroom was really small, but it certainly wouldn't keep us from staying there again.

In short, we highly recommend Glencree House

Currently writing this on our way home. We were so impressed with Glencree. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. I reacted badly to the feather pillows in the room, Andrew was very apologetic not that it was his fault! As soon as I mentioned it new ones were offered and were in the room when we returned to our room a short while later. Impressive selection of teas (and coffee) in the room with herbal options available which was appreciated. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! We had salmon and full breakfast and both were delicious. Well made and good quality. Only slight negative was our room was a little small however it was perfectly formed and has all you'd ever need in it and shower was good. We have friends in Penzance so we come down often i can say without a doubt we will be back!

We would like to return to Cornwall for the walking and would love to stay again at the Glencree House. Fabulous hospitality...so welcoming and such attention to detail. Andrew was extremely helpful and accommodating as well as a great cook! This a good central location for enjoying the south end, the Penwith circuit.

After reading a lot of great reviews about this place we were curious to check it out - and especially the freshly cooked breakfast ;-) Well, we were not disappointed. AT ALL!
Glencree is definitely one of the best places I have ever stayed at. It's easy to find, located nearby the prommenade and with a bus stop almost right in front of the door.
We had a spacious room with lots of light and lovely decoration, a little piece of chocolate on the bed every day and everything you could wish for.
Lynsey and Andrew are two easy-going, yet very attentive hosts who will make your stay as comfortable as possible.
THANKS SO MUCH for a fantastically relaxing week in Penzance - and that salmon breakfast dish rules!!!

We stayed two nights at Glencree in April and found it to be a first-rate B&B. Andrew was a wonderful host and gave us good tips of were to go and eat while we were in the area. We found his suggestions very helpful. The full English breakfast was great also. Glencree House is in a good location to see the sites of this part of Cornwall.
We will stay here should we ever get back to this area.

We stayed at Glencree House for a week based on a friend's recommendation and it was great. Andrew looked after us brilliantly with plenty of advice on what to do in the area and a hearty breakfast each morning. The room was cosy, clean and met all of our needs for a B&B.
