Love Trengwainton , it is just up the road from us, we go often as members as the National Trust. Lovely tea rooms, which are off the carpark so you do not need to pay to enter. The walled gardens are lovely, esp the local children's school areas. Events by the NT are fab, Halloween pumpkin carving ,dinosaur trails, etc. perfect picnic areas, just take a rug. Views from the terrace lawn ae fantastic. Try and go when the Magnolias are in flower, stunning.

We thought the cost of entry into the gardens was exorbitant - I guess it's our fault we didn't buy one of those passes - would have saved a lot of money. However, the tearooms were perfect. The staff were friendly, there was a wide range of food choices on the menu and the prices were very reasonable. The food was so delicious we are still talking about it three weeks later. The cafe was light and airy but still with a comfortable, cosy ambience. It was probably our favourite eating experience during the entire holiday.

I remember coming here with my two young kids and was worried they'd be bored out of their minds. But the place is massive, with paths and open spaces to run around on and explore. The tearooms are friendly and I had a lovely moist scone. The weather was great and the scarecrows on display in some of the vegetable patches were delightful.
Definitely recommend.

Wonderful garden with so much to see we were unable to see it all. There is the tree fern glade, camillia walk, azalea gardens, hillsides, and numerous walled gardens

We enjoyed a lovely morning wandering around here with our baby in the pushchair. It wasn't the nicest of days but we could appreciate the beauty of the garden through the gloom.

Well worth a visit
