“Oldest pub with fresh food!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Very busy, popular pub but well worth a visit. The staff were welcoming and helpful, made it clear where you were in the queue and how long the wait for food would be. No need to worry about the wait as the bar and rear garden were very pleasant to have a pre-dinner drink in. Smaller Tapas style food or full dinner, all very fresh and beautifully cooked.

“An excellent place to eat”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

Dropped in here on the off chance and judging by how busy it was thought it worth trying. A good choice. Despite being very busy the staff were really pleasant and helpful. They managed to squeeze us in and we had a first class food. All freshly cooked to order and the taste combinations were really good. I'll book ahead for next time and there will be one when next in Penzance. Keep up the excellent standard.

“Not as good as it was, rather overpriced for size of portions”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Have eaten here before and sorry to say it seem/ to have gone downhill. It was very busy and I suspect they were stretching the specials by serving smaller portions. There was no system for ordering ,you had to beg for a passing waitress to pay any attention . I will not visit again.

i would like to thank you for your review.
i guess its the curse of the key board warrior ,again.
your basing your review on the fact your experience was not as you had hoped ,compared to the last time you visited us.
we were very busy and are most nights.thats for a reason.
in your expert and educated opinion you suspect we are stretching our specials, insinuating we give small portions ,but you can't be sure ,(hardly a review).nothing about how the food was.
you were told when you arrived that we are busy and that some one would be over to take your order but it could be a 20/30min wait ,you were offered drinks and the menus to peruse while you waited .
we advise that if you are in a hurry that you let us know at the time and we will do our best to accommodate , but can't guarantee it .
most people when going out to dinner are out for the night .
we have a dedicated waitress to take orders and no amount of hassling the other waiters will get you your order before anyone else we have a structure that works very well, even more so when we get all information from the customer ,whether its ,your in a hurry or dietary needs etc .
to say you had to beg is also hardly a review more a childish remark.if that was the case then even i would have left and gone somewhere else.
we welcome constructive comments and we would much prefer to hear them on the night.
its very rare that when people write there reviews that they actually comment on how there complaint was dealt with, when i read trip adviser i am much more interested on how the issues were handled, people do appear more interested on handing out damming reviews and trying to hurt the business.
you were unlucky and we can only apologise but we pride ourselves on how we deal with issues and i suspect , like you ,that your issues were dealt with but you wanted your pound of flesh.

“Just great”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

We (family of three) ate at the Turk's Head twice recently. The food, drink, and service were all excellent. We sat in the front room of the pub, sampling local ales, ordered from the regular menu plus the specials. Highly recommended if you find yourself in Penzance.

“Don't miss it”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

We had a truly lovely meal at the Turks Head to celebrate my husband's birthday whilst on holiday in the area. The food was beautiful and the staff very friendly and helpful. It was a shame we hadn't any friends with us as they offer free main course to birthday person when 6 dine. We must return
