FANTASTIC! We visited way before stated but it's one of my favourite hotels in Britain! Loved it! Just got TripAdvisor app too. we loved the courtyard at the back and there were several fantastic restaurants around the corner too!

The Abbey Hotel is a gem. Our welcome was warm and inviting from Thaddeus. The house belongs in his family. Because we extended our stay by a night, we experienced two rooms and both were well-equipped and charming -- period furnishings with modern beds. Both had a lovely view out to the harbour and sea and St. Michael's Mount and one (#1) also had a beautiful view of the well kept garden. The garden is a splendid place for tea after a day of touring. The drawing room is beautiful and has lots of books and an honour bar. Breakfast was first class with all that could be expected, from full-cooked to kippers, etc. There is parking for 4 or 5 cars. The location could not be better for strolling along the harbourfront or exploring the shops and restaurants on Temple Street. It was a pleasure to experience this hotel.

Lived up to all expectations, Thadddeus made us so welcome. People of a certain age will know the history of this place. It was an ambition of my wife to visit the Abbey for some twenty years, should have done it a long while ago, but better late than never. A truly wonderful experience. We ordered good weather and got it.

The Abbey Penzance is a most delightful hotel, my husband and I had booked in for 3 nights and enjoyed it so much we asked to stay for an extra night. The Manager, Thaddeus, was most obliging and arranged it for us without any fuss. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable, beautifully furnished with some lovely touches. Our bedroom had super views across the harbour to Mounts Bay. The breakfasts were freshly cooked to order and were delicious. We felt really pampered. This was our first visit to The Abbey, and we hope to return. Staff were charming and friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: This is a small hotel, nestled in a good location. All bedrooms are large and individually decorated and overlook either the harbour and Mounts Bay or the delightful walled hotel garden. Beds are large and comfortable. There is no lift.

I just spent a night in Abbey Hotel. All the hotel furniture seem original pieces of arts! The breakfast room tables and chairs seems from 1920s/1930s modernism period ..really an experience to have breakfast there! There's a tremendously beautiful hall on the first floor with ancient sofas and plenty of art books on the shelfs: I spent the evening there reading books, wonderful! The nice garden outside is worth of a visit too, I suggest at sunrise. I had a very nice room, with original ancient furniture and very interesting old pictures on the wall: i enjoyed sat on the window with nice view on the coast. Definitely worth of a visit for who loves history and culture: it will give you a unique experience thanks to the original furniture and interiors.
