Penlee House is a real treat. It has a good collection of Newlyn paintings including two by the incomparable Walter Langley, a fascinating archaeology room, local history, and when we saw it a fascinating photography exhibition. The cafe is good, the staff are friendly and helpful and it only cost £3 to get in. We spent a delightful couple of hours there and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Beautiful Newlyn School collection, full programme of Exhibitions, museum's great for local social history, good range of art related and Cornish gifts, wonderful food in the Orangery cafe, pretty secluded memorial garden to sit in and soak up the sun...

One of the best museums in Cornwall, with a fantastic permanent collection of Newlyn School paintings as well as the current exhibition. A fascinating museum of local history and a good cafe with al fresco dining for fine weather. If you're in Penzance take a look - you won't be disappointed.
