When we left Trereife after a three night stay, I wrote in the visitors' book "Wonderful house, lovely family, a real find", and it's all that and a bit more - something special. Our room - more a suite actually, was Coleridge. Large, bright and airy with lovely views across the parterre and grounds, with a distant view of the sea. The bathroom, again a pretty fair size, was well decorated and finished. The bed was a large double and very comfortable. The thing to acknowledge about Trereife is that it is still very much a family home, it is comfortably furnished as such, and well used and loved antiques abound. It is not a five star, boutique type hotel and doesn't set out to be. Look elsewhere if that's what you're after.
What you are assured of is a warm welcome, informality, the chance to meet interesting fellow visitors while enjoying a very substantial breakfast in the splendid dining room. The Le Grice family are proud of the house and its history and Tim Le Grice will be delighted to give a guided tour and potted history. The house is still being refurbished, a bit at a time. This does not mean disruption for guests. As with all old properties, it's a constant work in progress. We wish the family every success with what is a new venture for them. They certainly deserve to succeed. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Ask for Coleridge if it's available.

We have just visited Trereife House and can say nothing ,but good words about our stay. The Le Grice Family are most welcoming and very hospitable.
The building speaks for itself. Full of character and history and a wonderful position . The Property dates back from the early 18 century.
The whole experience of staying at Trereife House is special.
My wife and I have stayed in many Hotels and B&B ,but Trereife House is ,probably, one of the best experiences we have had.
We cannot remember when we sat in a dinning room looking across to an 18 century fire place and noticing a large portrait of a member of the Le Grice family above
and at that moment Pete, Front of House, entered the Dining Room with our breakfast .After saying "Good Morning", we noticed that Pete had the same facial characteristics as The Portrait
and after discussion with Peter, he explained that Gentleman above the fire place was his Great Grandfather. Where would you find a similar experience!?
Our advice to anyone considering visiting Trereife House is do not hesitate, just go!
We wish the Le Grice Family all the best of luck in their new venture.
And we most certainly be visiting again.
Our only worry is will we be able find a night when a room is vacant!? When word gets around we feel the Le Grice Family and their lovely Home will be very busy!

We saw the house on "Country House Rescue" and decided to go down there on the spur of the moment. Only 2 rooms were available as of May 2011: The Wordsworth and the Coleridge. They are £110 and £120 respectively. We stayed in the Wordsworth, and as nice as it is, for just £10 more you should go for the superior Coleridge. In time other rooms will be completed. The house and grounds are slowly being brought back, and when we were there the workmen were just finishing the central heating. The family are very welcoming, and if you get there on a Wednesday the owner, Tim Le Grice, will give you a tour at 2:30 p.m. Breakfast is substantial and is served in the impressive dining room. There are plenty of good restaurants in nearby Penzance. We went to the the Bakehouse and recommend it. Book on-line at www.trereifepark.co.uk/house/

Room Tip: Book on-line and go for the Coleridge room.
