I would recommend Trereife as a great place to stay - a beautiful old house and really helpful owners. It probably doesn't suit all people as its a very old beautiful house and has kept its character - its not a clinical chain hotel where you wake up and think where i am i! as they all look the same.
Trereife has great character and charm, everything you would expect and a good position to explore Penzance and beyond

This was an "aparthotel" and was a big room with two double rooms and kitchen diner. All well equipped, and nice a cosy warm spot. A bit wonky as the rooms are in the old stable block and was subject to a TV makeover show and its shows. White emulsion paint everywhere and cream carpets are unwise on stairs out of the yard. Great for the cameras but wears poorly in old buildings and paint on furniture.... err no.

Some may find it a slightly spooky with bats, cobwebs and cobbles like as a film set of an 17th century street at the back of the main house. I loved it as reminded of a lodge House I used to live in. Like many old single glazed windows, hard to avoid condensation and mildew in the corners. Great new Sainsbury's down the road to stock up with goodies to cook in the well sorted kitchen. Toast and fire alarms was a close call though...

Some bits of the set up seem a bit under budget, but was great value. Enjoyed the stay.

Room Tip: Upstairs is probably best.

I couldn't recommend this bed and breakfast more highly. The house is beautiful, the location is great, the host made us feel very at home and gave excellent suggestions about where to eat locally, the breakfast was the best breakfast we'd ever had at a B&B and the value for money was unbelievably good

We stayed at the 2 bed apartment with ensuite shower to each room. Location is perfect for attractions like St Ives, Minack Theatre, Mount St Michael, Land's End, Sennen Cove. Highly recommended.
I would go back and stay again.

Cornwall has some great places to stay and Tereife is one of the best. Set in the most idyllic location it should be on everyone's bucket list of places to visit in the county. It's one of Cornwall finest small stately homes so provides the perfect opportunity to feel like the local squire for a night or two. Service is provided by the family so is wonderfully attentive, with the added benefit of real insight into the home, it history and the local area.

Room Tip: It's a country house so all the rooms have their own character.

Got a good deal on Trereife House for the one night my wife, baby and I were spending in Penzance a couple of weeks ago. It is a big mansion with beautiful grounds just outside Penzance and a family-run place with a very personal touch. The Le Grice family have owned the place for Generations and have managed to strike a balance between allowing people to experience the place without taking away too much of the originality.
We were upgraded to the larger suite on arrival as this was vacant and were immediately impressed by the size of the bedroom, adjacent small reception area and very large bathroom with an old style bath. Our little one certainly enjoyed crawling around the place! The place is very quiet at night and the bed comfy so we had a great nights sleep. A lot of the furniture and fittings are old and classic-looking which adds to the authentic feel. The suite was clean.
Breakfast was a la carte, freshly made and tasty. The corridors between rooms were full of old furniture and paintings which we didnt quite have the time to appreciate. Our baby enjoyed seeing the horses they have on our way out. Overall a great place to stay with a warm welcome. Would definately go there again if I could get a reasonable deal.

Room Tip: Bridal suite

Found this fantastic accommodation with a nice deal on the internet. My friends and I spending a night in the guest house during February. The guest house is very convenience because it's located near to the town center ,only need to drive around six mins to get there. We booked a apartment which has a kitchen and two shower en-suite room with double and king bed. The room is fantastic, makes us feel warm and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped, so we used it to cook our own dinner and breakfast. Bed and pillow was so comfortable, we do have a good night sleep. The guest house is really nice and has a great environment, surround by many trees and flowers, peaceful and relax. Good weather and place, we had a great time there.
