“perfect break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2012

Were totally spoilt in this b&b - breakfast was fresh with lots of choice and a lovely fresh fruit salad every day.
Spotlessly clean, fabulous bedding and towels, will return, thanks so much, would definately return and highly recommend!

We stayed with Rita and Tom at the lovely B&B in Penzance two weeks ago. We had a spacious room sleeping four for three of us which was £48 per person per night so not cheap but worth it . It was very nicely decorated and furnished. Everywhere spotless and the en-suite bathroom had a good shower. Very nice towels and a fluffy robe each with toiletries in the bathroom and an abundance of different coffee and tea sachets and biscuits in the room. We had a lovely view over the sea front. We didn't really take advantage of the breakfasts available in the morning, but there was a lot of choice of breakfast including full english. Tom and Rita were a lovely couple, very friendly and helpful and made you feel very welcome. The whole house was decorated beautifully and we really enjoyed staying there. I would personally pay a little more and stay somewhere like this than your basic B&B. Only one thing we did find hard was the bed, my husband and I did wake up with back ache every morning as the bed was very hard. The single beds were much softer, but the bedding was lovely, with light fluffy quilts and soft pillows and felt quite new. Would definitely recommend a stay there.

Super hotel, quiet with parking and really clean with lovely linens and towels, excellent freshly cooked breakfast and hospitable owners. We will certainly stay there again, several guests were "repeaters" and recommend highly.

We were displaced to Lombard Hotel after the B&B we booked was flooded by a pipe burst. I must say, I was not disappointed by this move. The family that runs this hotel is extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast was delicious every morning we had it. The room was very clean and well maintained. We had two twin beds and a full, which is nice for a family. The ocean view was great, but the the seagulls can get a little annoying, so we closed the windows at night. The teas provided in the rooms were organic and they even provided nice china. They had a couple of herbal infusion teas and it was a breath fresh air to have teas other than the typical English breakfast. They also provided cookies in the rooms. The beds were extremely comfortable. If I had one complaint, it would be that the blankets were a little too thick for the temperature outside. I saw some complaints about noise on the first floor bedrooms, but no one in my family noticed it. The location is great. It's a short walk to just about anywhere in Penzance. There was a little gravel car park if you have a car. This hotel is definitely the best one that we stayed in on our trip the the UK.

Extremely pleased with our 2 night stay. very spacious clean comfortable room with a beautiful sea view and thoughtful extras such as dressing gowns, tea and coffee makings, etc. Owners were very pleasant and helpful. and breakfast was excellent on both mornings. B&B is in a good location for which to explore the surrounding areas and south west Cornwall. would highly recommend.

Just returned from break in far south of Cornwall. The Lombard has thought of everything. Fluffy dressing gowns, excellent en suite, superb breakfast choices and lovely hosts. The views across penzance bay from your room make interesting mornings and evenings as the boats drift in and out.
