Description: The popular Dock Inn is located in the heart of Penzance’s historic harbour-side area. The Dock has a good old fashioned pub atmosphere, with scrubbed pine tables, polished wooden floors, two open fires, comfy leather sofas and all sorts of nautical and other memorabilia! In the ‘lower deck’ you can watch the world go by through bi-fold doors overlooking Quay Street. You’ll get friendly service, banter, top quality home-made pub food (if you get peckish) and will be made to feel welcome whether you’re on your own or with a group of friends. We have live music most Friday’s and we also have a popular weekly jam session every Tuesday from 9pm where both musicians and spectators are welcome! We do the best Sunday Roast in town! We have a well thought out (and well sampled!) wine list, a wide range of bar drinks and choice of 3 excellent real ales including the legendary Spingo brewed in Helston. In the warmer summer months you can relax in our sunny courtyard garden. In the winter we have a heated smoking area for our customers enjoyment. As well as offering excellent value food & drinks, we have 3 quality en-suite B&B rooms – a perfect place to relax.

“Cosy pub, delicious food”
Reviewed 21 December 2013

Visited mid december and the food was lovely, one of the best meals of the holiday. Had plenty to choose from and the food was quick to cook but still tasty. Made to feel very welcome with a great service. The setting of the pub was small but cosy, with interesting decor to look at. Will definitely go back again.

“2 for 1”

Great choice for celiacs but the ham egg and chips were disapointing, had to ask for no egg as allergic to them. Didn't seem to be enough food for the price charged, two half slices of ham and basically frozen fries. Two of our party had the tagliatelle and were also disappointed, plenty of food for them but very little flavour and not enough sauce on the pasta. A comment was made on the tagliatelle when the waitress came to remove the plates and asked if all was ok. We then didn't see a waitress again until we had to ask at the bar for the bill. No one offered us a sweets menu or coffees, we were just abandoned.

“Bland”
Reviewed 25 November 2013 via mobile

Waitress polite and quick. Carbonara was a huge portion but tasteless lumps of ham, over cooked pasta and no visable sauce. Ham egg and chips meal had nearly half the ham as fat. No sweet menus were offered. Glad it was 2 for 1. I know it's pub grub but not worth full price. Water glasses were not very clean, finger prints and Lipstick stains.

We took advantage of the offer in the Cornishman. Ambience was good, service was good and also friendly. I chose steak and was not disappointed, but my friend swerved away from the Grey mullett at the last moment, lured by the mushroom, spinach and stilton pie, big mistake! The puff pastry was sodden, soggy and slimy. The filling, though tasty, had no hint of stilton that either of us could discern. A seasoned pub food veteran of many years standing, I do realise that not every dish will be perfect, but having been asked by the waitress whether everything was alright, and pointing out the failing, nothing whatsoever was done about it.
I would try again because the specials did sound rather good, but it would have to really shine next time for me to recommend this venue to anyone else.
