Sophias was really wonderful. Couldn't be in a better position, the view was to die for. Lyn our host was warm and welcoming. She made us a coffee and biscuits on arrival. The room was large and soooo comfortable. Great bed. Also the bathroom was very swish. Would have like to stay longer, but we were on a tight schedule. We went to the Minack that night, but put in our order for brekkie before we went out, so it was ready for us in the morning. Lyn we would like to say thank you for a great stay.

Room Tip: There are only 3 rooms. The two with sea views will take your breath away

My husband and I spent two nights here in one of the lovely upstairs rooms with sea views. The room was spacious, airy, and immaculate. The bed was comfortable and the shower in our ensuite was a big walk in one with gorgeous water pressure (whereas other places we have stayed in the UK have showers that give only a trickle!). Sophia was a wonderful host, offering us coffee on our arrival, kindly carrying my bag up the stairs for me, and cooking up a gourmet breakfast each morning. The only negative was that because of the prime position on the seafront there was a bit of road noise. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

What a treat! Our group stayed in two of the very stylish clean rooms and couldn't have been happier. Lynn is a great hostess. After a long drive down we booked in for dinner too and I don't think we could have found anywhere better. I would advise anyone to stay here.

What a Fantastic stay. It is an awesome B&B with a really great location - the room was large, clean and very comfortable. My only regret is that I had not booked earlier and so we were unable to stay another night. Thank you :)

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sophia's for a long weekend in May. We picked it based on the stellar recommendations on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. It is quite possibly the best B&B I've stayed at in the UK.

The hotel itself is a boutique operation (only three bedrooms). Each bedroom has a direct view of the sea. Our bedroom was of a good size and extremely tastefully decorated in a white and blue, somewhat nautical theme complementing the sea view. Everything was pristinely clean. The bathroom was huge. The shower was as powerful as a fire hydrant (didn't realize this was even possible this side of the Atlantic). The bed was luxurious, albeit on the soft side.

The breakfast (three options: English, continental or fruit plate) was delicious and filling. The highlight was homemade orange marmalade, lovingly prepared by Lynn, the B&B's owner, from oranges handpicked by her in Greece. Lynn is an excellent cook and also prepares dinners for her guests upon request. Her fish and chips were the best I've ever tried (she buys fresh fish every morning from the fishermen in Newlyn harbour).

It is the dedication, professionalism and friendliness of Lynn that make Sophia's a truly special place to stay. She is extremely knowledgeable about West Cornwall and has recommended excellent walks in the area, as well as fun things to do in the town of Penzance. She brought us brochures with bus itineraries and even lent us some cash for a day when we could not find a cash machine.

We loved Sophia's so much that we booked a stay there for my boyfriends' parents when they came to visit from the US. They had a great time there as well. We hope to come back some day.

On arrival we were offered tea/coffee, even though these facilities were already in the room. Lynne was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was light, bright, and well furnished, and the bathroom well appointed. Every day a jar of freshly baked cookies appeared in our room, and the breakfast very generous, even the marmalade was home made. We had a lovely three night stay and highly recommend this sea front b&b.

Stayed at Sophia's B&B for one night on our way to Tresco and it was a very pleasant surprise. The room was better than most hotels, possibly one of the best rooms we have stayed in with a view directly overlooking the seafront. Nothing is too much trouble, very friendly welcome, finding time to make a much needed pot of tea; although they were very busy in the restaurant. The next treat was the evening meals in the restaurant with the main courses of hake and trio of fish cooked by the chef patron; these dishes were cooked to perfection. Don't be put off by the size of the dining area as the food is exceptional.
