We did not stay at this hotel. But the menu posted at its front brought us into a pleasantly appointed reception area where we enjoyed a glass of wine while considering the day's offerings by the chef. I chose the mackerel-waldorf salad and lamb dish. Both were perfectly prepared and attractively presented. My wife opted for the roasted cod which was very fresh and nicely seasoned. (Yes, I did have to tasted it. It looked so good.) Both main dishes came with a platter of tasty vegetables, as pretty as could be. The wine list is not an extensive one; on the other hand all of the offerings were reasonably priced, and the Chablis was OK. The dining area was well lit, spotless, and in every way comfortable. The two servers were as friendly and competent as anyone has a right to expect. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Hotel definately deserves 4 stars! We had premier double which had double aspect windows overlooking sea, st michaels mount and newlyn harbour, spacious room with everything you need.only let down in room was fridge not cleaned inside. Towels fluffy and bed comfy. Breakfasts were amazing and lots of choice. We also ate in Tides, their restaurant one evening and the food was fantastic and the best we had out all week. Staff friendly and will go out of their way. Nit picking would be as it shares reception with guest house next door can sometimes be a lengthy wait to retrieve room key after getting back to hotel, not so good if you're dripping wet!! We loved staying so much that we were able to negotiate longer stay there without room switching. Also used laundry service which was very quick and not too pricey.

Room Tip: Close windows to avoid lorry noise if at front of hotel but views worth inconvenience!

My wife and I stayed for four nights in late April celebrating our 30th anniversary. We had an initial mix up with the bed size, but Sue and Philipe sorted it right away by moving a King size bed into our room. A very nice hotel with a warm and friendly atmosphere and a delicious breakfast. Our room had two bay windows, one facing south out to sea, and the other east towards Marazion and St. Michael's Mount. Brilliant views! The only negative I would say is that several of the window panels in this room are failing and the streaks and condensation can spoil the beautiful view. No worries about traffic noise either as rush hour in Penzance is over once begun. Our room was very comfortable and quiet and we experienced no problems from check in to check out. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and nice to speak with. No request is too small and all are dealt with immediately and with a smile. Special thanks to Sue and Sarah and the ladies of the dining room who all go above and beyond. Well done!

Stayed two nights at Beachfield Hotel- wonderful location overlooking the scenic foreshore with sweeping views. Staff were very friendly and attentive and rooms furnished stylishly- had breakfast and dinner in the hotel dining room and all meals were delicious with good service. Very good value, and only criticism is the beds weren't very comfortable and difficult bathroom access and lack of safety for my elderly father despite having requested accessible bathroom at time of booking. Borrowed a "shower chair" from the friendly Little Wonder Cafe caravan on the Promenade opposite the hotel. Necessity is the mother of invention when it comes to disabled access facilities in England!

Room Tip: Ask for seafront room as views are wonderful.

A pleasant environment with tasteful decoration and furniture. The bed was great for us as there was a really snugly duvet and firm mattress. The owners accommodated our request for an early breakfast and they volunteered some secure parking for our bikes which was kind.

We booked at the last minute and were able to get a premier double room, the cost made up for the size of the room not hopelessly small but not huge. We don't normally stay in 3 star however I think it should be upgraded in comparison with many 4 stars we have stayed in. The room was spotless and everything worked. We had tea and coffee facilities in our room which included a really lovely selection of biscuits and chocolates yum. Breakfast was superb, second night we were there we found the weather was inclement so ate in at the hotel, Should have done that the first night the meal was really good, service excellent. The hotel is a bit out of town but on the promenade and so this made it an easy walk into town or the next village. We were glad to hear about the history of the hotel while there which is part of the hotels proud tradition. Big thanks to friendly staff who really were very helpful with sightseeing suggestions.
