“Very nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2014 via mobile

Stayed for two days had a single room which over looked the sea, which is a fantastic view. First night the sea was rough and was very loud as you are only a couple of yards from the sea, but that didn't bother me.
Very good breakfast, and a nice bar menu.

Crudge666,

Really appreciate the review.

Glad you liked the food and menu.

The sea can get rough from time to time. Lucky you didn't come in February when we experienced some of the worst storms in 100 years.

Look forward to seeing you again.

Nigel.

We stayed for 2 nights on a deal. We had a standard room which didn't face the sea. This was OK for us as the only noises we could hear were the Seagulls, no cars etc.
The breakfasts are huge, we both struggled to finish. The staff are all friendly and welcoming.
We had dinner in the restaurant and the first night, as it was part of the deal. Presentation, quality and quantity were all excellent, so we eat there again the second night. The views from the restaurant are fantastic, right on the sea front over looking St Michael's mount. A very relaxing stay.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are quiet

SPM,

Thank you for your kind review.

We like to make sure that our guests are well-fed so we don't do half portions here!

As for the seagulls, it's a kind reminder that you are only feet from the water's edge.

Look forward to welcoming you again.

Nigel.

We've just come home after a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel which is right on the sea front ! we booked a "package" and got B&B evening meal (first night) and a cream tea any time we wanted it all for £99 ! amazing price !!
we parked in their free car park at the rear of the hotel with no problem ! and for those less mobile there was even a "chair lift" to take you up to the first floor where reception is located !!
Our room was on the second floor and we took a wonderful old fashioned lift up ! the room (67) was large ! cleaned to a high standard and that is purely down to "good housekeeping" by Carol and her staff ! so thank you !! bathroom was big too with good quality toiletries and nice soft towels ! the water pressure on the shower was quite low ! you just had to stay under it a bit longer that's all !! the bed was very comfortable and nicely "dressed" with matching pillow cases and throw !! made the whole room look lovely !!
We were seated at a lovely table over looking the sea for our evening meal !! a good choice of food from the menu ! beautifully served and piping hot accompanied by a dish of fresh vegetables/potatoes cooked to perfection so compliments to the chef !! and as for the Mandarin cheesecake ? heaven on a plate !!! all served by very friendly staff with lots of smiles on their faces ! all made for a very nice evening !
Breakfast was equally as nice ! plenty of choice for hot/cold selection ! sets you up nicely for your day ahead !
This hotel is classed a 3* ? in our opinion this is a low rating ! it well deserves a higher rating than that !! a lovely setting ! good food ! nice rooms ! friendly staff ! who could ask for more ?
Would we go back ? absolutely 100% yes ! and we would definitely recommend you stay at this hotel if ever your in Penzance !! fabulous shopping in the town centre too !! and if you fancy "fish and chips" there's a lovely one - left out of the hotel then left again ??? Enjoy !!

We stayed here prior to travelling for a week on St Martin's. Because we were staying at either end of the week at the hotel we were allowed to park for free. The hotel is a lovely example of victorian seaside hotels with beautiful rooms and very good facilities. Wonderfully old fashioned with lovely crisp white linen and comfortable beds. We only had two overnight stays and ate breakfast but not dinner. We had our two (very well behaved) Standard Poodles with us and they were accommodated without question. The hotel staff made the stay easy for us and the 'special rate' of £69 per room per night was exceptionally good - we had beautiful sea views. No criticisms at all and we will return! Staying at this hotel at either end of our idyllic island holiday enhanced it no end.
Thank you Queen's

Room Tip: Sea view on the second floor was teh quietest and loveliest rooms

We have just come back from this hotel, amazing!! It was a lovely hotel, staff couldn't do enough for you, very helpful, we upgraded to a sea view room it was spotless and loved the bathroom, we went on a wowcher deal, we're treated no different from anyone else. Our deal included a 3 course meal, what I didn't realise, as I'd booked it some time ago was that the meal was meant To be taken on the 1st night, when I explained to the gentleman behind the bar that we had eaten before we got to the hotel as I wanted to try the Admiral bowben pub in Penzance, he allowed us to have our meal the following evening, which was delicious, presented beautifully. Music played softly in the back ground while you were having your meals, but did not intrude on your conversation. I would so recommend this hotel for a lovely relaxing break. I would definitely go back again .love, love, loved it. !!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Would have sea view room, but haven't seen any of the rooms at the back.

Although very busy today we felt special and valued. The menu was varied and elegant. Cornish roast beef was absolutely delicious. Service was immaculate, seemless and personal. Congratulations to the new manager and his staff for pulling off a perfect Mother's Day lunch. Flowers and chocolates were a lovely touch. My 22nd Mothers Day was the best!

Just returned from a 2 day break at the queens hotel. There was plenty of free parking. We paid a supplement and had a sea view which was panoramic showing st Michaels Mount as well as nearby Mousehole and Newlyn. The room was very clean. We had good service from staff who were attentive and friendly. The evening meal and breakfast were served hot ,of a good standard ,with plenty of variety offered. We have already booked to come back again.
