We visited this lovely little cafe on a recent trip to Cornwall - and were met with a very warm welcome from the owners; Donna and Kurt. They were super friendly and it was easy to see why the locals loved going there - great coffee, nice atmosphere and a really pretty little garden terrace out the back, unfortunately a bit too chilly on this trip but perfect for the summer!

Had Americano coffees here today, which were excellent. Such a warm welcome and a relaxing atmosphere. Lovely to have a really good non chain coffee shop like this in Penzance. Didn't have food but the selection on offer sounded good at sensible prices too. The proprietors really deserve to succeed in this new venture. Thank you and all the best. We will be back.

I am an avid coffee fan and Espresso Culture offers a superb range of coffee that is expertly made and a joy to experience. I cannot rate this place enough and as a local I highly recommend it to all. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed with a lovely garden to enjoy good weather (when we have it) and there is always a good range of foodie items to enjoy which are truly tempting. First rate!

Having nipped into Penzance, we decided to have a coffee but decided to give the high street chains a miss. We found the Espresso Culture and thought we'd give it a try.

The coffee was good, being better than the chains. We also decided to have a quick bite to eat. The menu is fairly limited but don't look on this as a fault as everything is prepared fresh and is very reasonably priced. My wife had a teacake which couldn't be faulted and I had a cheese and pickle sandwich which was made to order, very fresh, as you'd hope, and with very tasty local cheddar. What was also great, was the lack of the ubiquitous bunch of salad leaves as a garnish (you are advised of this when you order) – it was just a sandwich, which is exactly what I wanted at that time and enjoyed every mouthful.

We couldn't fault the service, which was friendly and efficient. The place itself is slightly deceptive, looking small from the outside but having more room to the rear. The general feel was very relaxed and overall very comfortable.

Upshot is, the next time that we're in Penzance and we want a coffee and a light bite we will look here first.

A lovely hot cup of coffee for £2 and a bowl of fresh soup with bread for £3. A paper to read and lovely service
