again I was guided by the excellent reviews of this place in Tripadvisor and was prepared to pay over the odds because it sounded so wonderful, however we were disappointed
First of all our room was on the top floor, with no lift , and was very cramped, far too much furniture so no space to move around in and nowhere to put our bags
.Very high standard of decoration and cleanliness, very comfortable bed but the room was overly warm and there was not fan or air conditioning
The breakfast was very complete with a good selection of fresh fruit
The owner was very friendly and helpful, but on the whole this was not the place for us

Room Tip: ask for ground floor or first floor as there is no lift

We booked this via Booking.com for 2 nights B&B at £75 per night, and £75 deposit was taken on credit card at time of booking. There is on street parking, and we managed to park outside but it is a residential street, and there is no guarantee. Pleasant exterior and a warm welcome from the host. He explained the accommodation and facilities. We were given room 2 which is tiny. No room for luggage storage and there is a chair in corner of the room, which is ineffectual - for me, take that out and then at least you can place a suitcase there. Tea/coffee provided and wine glasses which were nice. No room in bathroom to place toiletries, and a tiny, tiny wash basin. Very clean room and good linens. Toiletries provided via dispensers on wall, which is not my favourite. Noisy plumbing, which can be expected in converted houses. TV ok, but small and a little high on the wall. The room was very hot (and although it was July, it wasn't that hot outside) and although the sash windows open, it became a little oppressive, due to size of room. I prefer darker curtains, as I find it difficult to sleep with early morning sunshine streaming in. Good free wifi. Breakfast was pre-order, which for us was not a problem. Good produce, well executed, but led down by the quality of the sausage - which I couldn't eat. Breakfast was 8 - 8:30, which we think was a bit restricted, should be till 9am. Owner is a friendly guy, who uses first name basis, which is engaging at first, but was a little too familiar for us. We prefer the more formal approach, this felt like, we were staying in someone's home, which for some, I'm sure is a plus point - just not for us. We were also asked to pay the bill in cash, as it is a small establishment. Again, this wasn't a problem for us, but we did expect to pay by credit card, as our card had been used by this establishment on booking. If others were on a tight cash budget, this could cause problems. We think this is expensive accommodation, and was the most expensive we paid, during our trip to Devon and Cornwall. There are many plus points but we would not return. If you like the personal touch and don't mind small rooms, this may be for you.

Angela and I stayed here for three nights when we visited Penzance with our choir.
The room was very clean and well furnished and the beds were extremely comfortable. We really enjoyed our cooked breakfast preceded by a good choice of fresh fruit yoghurt and cereal.
Alan was very friendly and helpful in giving us directions and finding us a taxi on our departure.
Can certainly recommend it.

The room was absoulutly lovely, the bed was soo comfty, made it hard to get up in the morning! But the breakfast soon persauded us to, it was lovely! Alan was so attentive in suggesting where to go and places to eat! A very lovely couple with a beautiful home, nothing was to much trouble! Will definatly be returning!

Stayed here for two nights. The Chiverton is very clean and facilities excellent. Alan and Sally made me very welcome and were so helpful with suggestions for places in the area to see. Alan also told me the route along the coastal road to obtain the best views and I got some fantastic pictures to keep memories of a truly lovely stay in Penzance. Almost certainly will return for another visit.
