Even after the sad loss of John, we had a very warm welcome from Katherine, Linda and Peter on our recent visit to Polperro.
We have dined at the Polmary for several years now and have always found this restaurant to be the most pleasant place to eat in the locality. Would recommend all their dishes (although slightly less choice now understandably) all served very promptly with great entertainment particularly by Linda who brings such warmth and friendliness to the occasion. The Sunday lunch (£6.50) is excellent value and quality, but you do need to book, it is so popular!
We sincerely hope that they will be continuing into next season despite the setback and wish them every success, which is well deserved.

Having always walked past this restaurant we were recommended to eat there by friends. And they were not wrong!! The food was wonderful. FIsh so fresh you could smell the sea. Plaice so tender it just melted. Seaood Chowder served with huge hunks of bread (and more if you wanted). The atmosphere was buzzing. Lovely waitresses. And reasonable prices too!!! What more could you ask for???? We will certainly be going there again.

We have just spent a fab week in Polperro! The Polmary was recommended to us by the Lady who looks after the Cottage! and she wasnt wrong!
Dont be put off by the exterior because inside is a real treat.
Linda our waitress (For two nights) - it was so good we went back twice! Linda kept us entertained all night, clearly loves her job and is very good at it, service with a smile/joke is a real treat these days. Coupled with amazing food, made for a top night out. As a non meat eater I was in fish heaven, I couldnt decide on my main so had a combo of starters- crab claws and med prawns - Bloomin marvellous.
Go and try it, you wont be dissapointed.

This place looks a bit like a rather dull pub from the outside and it was not our first choice for lunch but as it was a busy day in Polperro our party of 7 ended up here. It turned out to be a very good choice indeed. We found a very warm welcome and the staff were pleasant and efficient. The extensive menu offered everything from sandwiches to locally sourced fish dishes and it was all very nicely presented. The prices would seem comparable with other local establishments and we would certainly like to return here to sample the evening menu.
