My husband and I had a lovely night here. The proprietors did everything possible to make our stay most enjoyable.Ample parking which is very precious in some small villages.Clean and comfortable rooms. An excellent breakfast what more could you ask for.We had a nice early morning walk around the harbour to take photographs. It is just perfect.

The welcome at Penryn was warm and check in was easy. We had requested an early check in as the Polperro music festival started on the day of our arrival. This was happily accommodated. The room was clean and well presented and whilst not huge was functional. The bathroom was clean and tidy and again, well presented.

Breakfast is excellent and the hot elements cooked to order. The quality is very high and the portion sizes set you up nicely for the day.

Car parking can be a challenge at Penryn, but if you follow the clear instructions and are able to drive in a semi-competent manner – you’ll be OK.

Noise can travel in the hotel as the rooms are very close together, however my wife and I had no problems sleeping and the hotel does not seem to be beset by late night revellers.

My only criticism of the hotel is that breakfast is only served between 8:30am and 9:30am. Whilst I can understand that the owners want to get on with other things, this does tend to restrict early starts and/or lie ins if you still want to have breakfast.

We found the room a little on the small side, but the bed was comfortable, with plenty of hot water in the shower. Breakfast good, but the small quantity of fresh fruit on the buffet seemed insufficient for sixteen guests all dining at the same time. We believe this was topped up frequently, but initially, upon seeing only a cereal-sized bowl of cut fruit on offer made us hold back, feeling that we could not take too much. With fresh fruit for breakfast being more important to us personally than a cooked meal, it fell down a little there. However, the berry compote was delicious.

My partner and I had a couple of days in Polperro while doing a whirlwind tour of Cornwall. We happened upon this lovely hotel by chance as we had intended only staying in Polperro a few hours, However, we noticed the 'pets welcome' sign and the the fact we could park there was an incentive to call in and book. We decided to stay for two nights and I have to say, the hotel was great. The bed was really large and comfy - a bit of a squeeze in a small room but well worth it for a really good nights sleep - not always easy in strange beds and the shower was always lovely and hot. Everywhere was spotlessly clean.Breakfast was good with lots of choice and a stone's throw from the centre of the village. The only thing we did notice was that the voices of two elderly ladies in the next door room carried quite a bit at 6.00am but then again not everyone tends to chat at this time of the morning! We will definitely be returning to this lovely friendly hotel.

My husband and I stayed at the Penryn B&B for 5 nights in honour of my friends wedding that was being held in Polperro. We chose the Penryn as it had fab parking facilities, a stone throw from the wedding reception and mainly from the reviews left from others. As to not bore you with any long stories, please find an honest and accurate review in point-form…….
Location - Outstanding, 5 minute walk to the seafront.
Polperro - Stunning.
Breakfast - Extremely high standard with a choice of cereals, hot breakfast and pastries (they even added onto the menu tinned tomatoes for my hubby! Thank you Anna!). Perfect!!
Rooms - Just right for the length of time spent in there. Bathroom was spotless, modern and the towels were fluffy and fresh.
Parking - Organised to perfection. Whether you have a Range Rover or a Smartcar, spaces for all.
Bar - Well stocked for a B&B, served a very nice Sauvignon Blanc.
Landlord/Lady - Warm, friendly, nothing too much trouble, always full of smiles.
Value For Money - Worth every penny.
I thank the Penryn for making our stay literally PERFECT!! Hope to see you again in the future.

Room Tip: Room 18 had a King Sized Bed and I believe was the most spacious room in the building. The power sho...

We stayed for 3 nights at this lovely family run hotel which is situated towards the top end of the main street in Polperro, within about 5 minutes walk of the town's picturesque harbour. Its also very close to numerous restaurants, pubs and cafes and just a few minutes walk from a bus stop where you can catch services to nearby Looe. Its also ideally situated for walking on the South West coast path. All areas of the hotel that we used were kept immaculately clean and were comfortably and tastefully furnished and decorated. The breakfast area is light and spacious; the breakfast menu is extensive and abounds with locally sourced and home made produce. Everything was freshly cooked and prepared and tasted delicious...a great start to the day.The lounge/bar area was a pleasure to sit in for evening drinks. Our bedroom at the front of the hotel was also clean and bright and comfortable. The shower/toilet area however was fairly compact and a larger person may have found it a bit of a squeeze! The owners, and in particular Anna, were exceptional hosts who made us welcome throughout our stay, attended to all of our needs and gave us useful information about local eateries, bus timetables etc.The hotel also welcomes pets and has its own car park which is a real bonus. Car parking rules are made clear at the time of booking and work well if followed correctly. Two points to consider; the hotel does not have a lift so if you have issues with stairs this may not be the place for you; also when leaving the car park drive very carefully and slowly as it is easy to ground the front of your car as you enter the road.Overall we found this hotel to be an absolute gem, highly recommended and one that we would certainly return to. And excellent value for money.

Room Tip: We deliberately went for a room at the front of the hotel as we were informed at the time of booking...

We have just returned from 2 nights at the Penryn Hotel

The hotel is well located in Polperro and this is one of the few places there with on-site parking included.

The owners looked after us well and and gave us advice on the best places to eat in the village. The breakfasts were very good with a good choice of cereals, croissants, juices and cooked breakfasts with great service from Anna.

We slept well on both nights and the bed was very comfortable.

We had a great break and spent a day walking from Polperro to Looe on the coast path (approx 2 hours each way).

Many thanks to Anna and Chris for your hospitality. We will be back :)

Room Tip: Some rooms are quite small so be sure to ask for a large room if you need one
