“awlful chalets”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2014

just returned from a 4 night break at seaview the chalet was absolutely awlful it was extremely damp and dirty. The kitchen cupboards stunk of damp had to wash everything before you could use it. The fridge was very rusty and we had to clean the windows to be able to see out of them. The bathroom was damp and the lino was all very uneven we had to share the bathroom with spiders and grandads aswell. The heating system is rubbish and cost a fortune
This was a birthday present for my boyfriend 50th and was not great the outside pool if you could call it that was an eyesore and a danger waiting to happen with the amount of small children running around it should of had a net on it or at least cleaned out it looked like a swamp.
The only good side was the entertainment man who was very good and did a very good job entertaining the adults and children. All other staff were very friendly.
The chalet look like something out of the 1940s. it is a real smash as it is a gorgous spot.

Arrived on 12 April , no water for showers no water in basin , was moved to a top range caravan which was very nice but still no shower as everytime you stepped in the boiler turned off . After many complaints decided to pack up and go home, after being offered the key to another chalet to shower in. Plus the outside pool was Green with growth and the smelt of sewers near the main building , absolut ehell ,Holiday ruined .

What can I say after spending nearly a week at Seaview, well the first thing is DONT.We were moved from our first chalet as it was so damp and cold and the next one felt better but was not really comfortable ie the sofa and the bed were incredibly bad.On the plus side the chalet was clean and the staff were helpful but we shall not be staying again. If you do decide on a holiday there take extra blankets if you are travelling by car and we bought hot water bottles as it was very cold.

When we arrived it was a swamp outside the caravan, I know they have had a lot of rain but our shoes were ruined, our bedding stunk of urine and smoke,so it was taken to reception in which the receptionist raised her eyebrows and said there was no smell, but replaced it, the tables in the entertainment area were also dirty, it was cold too, games room was poor. The caravan smelt damp, also my son and partner went swimming and now my partner has an eye infection, when there swimming shorts had dried they smelt awful, definitely not of chlorine. Will not be returning again.

So it's 12.43am on day one of our 4 day break I'm wide awake place stinks of damp we are in number 54 after been moved from 55 due to it smelling like an ashtray, I can't sleep apart from the smell my daughters asthma is playing up due to the damp and I feel like my skin is crawling laid in this bed! Needless to say we will be checking out tomorrow and finding somewhere else to stay, our stay here has involved approx 8 trips to reception to sort out bedding back and forth with bedding which either stank didn't fit or dirty! The carpets are damp under foot iv had to wash every dish in the cupboard and leave out as the cupboard stinks of damp, iv complained to the reception manager and she just stood there didn't offer any solution to our problems until I suggest what she should be doing it's like this is the norm for her and she has heard it all before. I'm so disappointed this was a surprise for my husbands birthday after a stressful start to our year. Now laid in bed looking for a suitable place to book into from tomorrow, as much as I'd rather be sat in another room there is none as my son is sleeping on the sofa bed in the lounge which he commented on he'd rather sleep on the floor due to its dirty appearance that's until I pointed out the carpet is damp

We stayed in seaview in April this year ... From day one the electric went and we had a leak in our shower ... Went to reception , not to complain , just to get sorted ... Same day shower sorted .. And we were told electric would be on and off for next few weeks ... This was not the parks fault , it was just unlucky .. We were offered our money back , from the manager who we found to be superb .. We had a choice to stay or refund .. We stayed for 2 fantastic weeks with superb entertainment ... Friendly staff ... And great prices in store ... Captain crumble was perfect with the kids ... To sum it all up .. Things happen sometimes , it's what you make of it when they do .. I've spent 1800 pounds and had a terrible time in other parks before ... We are going back next April already booked knowing we are going to have another fantastic time ... Book now for next year ..great price .. Beautiful views ... And well managed ... I give it 10/10 ... I haven't got the moody on captain crumble

Room Tip: Beautiful view of the sea if you can get one , if booked it's all eye candy

Many thanks for taking the time to write your review. We were so glad that you enjoyed your holiday despite the problems at the start. The problem with the electric supply was something that we could not have foreseen but it was quickly put right and shouldn't happen again.

We look forward to seeing you in April and Captain Crumble will be here again to entertain you again.

We returned to Seaview at the start of October for a week-end break and once again had a great time. As in previous visits we stayed in one of the budget chalets and although dated and basic the accommodation was clean, well equipped and in decent condition. All staff, without exception, were helpful, polite and made all members of the family feel welcome. As ever the outstanding feature of our stay was the club house - the food is good quality at a reasonable price, the bar staff led by Nikki are friendly and patient, the entertainment is always traditional family-friendly acts that provide a great night for both young and old, and of course there is Captain Crumble who is an absolute star - whether you are 2 or 92 he will but a smile on your face and take the time to make you feel like part of the Seaview family.
Already looking forward to visiting again next season.
