Seaview Holiday Village
Reviewed 28 June 2014 via mobile

Caravan was average but views were amazing, it's a shame that the park is more suited to the older generation! My child was told to hush during the bingo which went on for far to long and when the singer came on told the children to sit down!! If it was a normal family park she would have got the children involved! You can't expect them to be sat down and quiet for long periods of time and they should be allowed to enjoy themselves! The staff in the bar and in reception aren't friendly at all! The lady in the shop was nice but overall not for young families and won't be going back x

Thank you for taking the time to write your review.

We are sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay here and that you feel it isn't for younger families. We couldn't of course agree with that as our holidays are aimed at both families and couples. We provide children's entertainment twice a day, both in the morning and early evening, and they are welcome in the clubhouse throughout the evening. I am sorry if your child was asked to keep quiet, but we do need to ensure that that everyone can enjoy the entertainment being provided.

Just got back from a weekend at the seaview holiday village. We stayed in one of the jubilee caravans, it was ok, not brilliant but for the money we paid for it can't really complain, could have done with a good deep clean though, little things like towel rails hanging off the walls and the beds could have done with much better mattress's as you could see the springs through the sheets.
The view was amazing, and it was a very quiet site.
The staff seemed ok, not as welcoming as some sites we have stayed on. But I think it depends on who you speak to.
Polperro is a short 3-5 min drive away, and looe a little longer.
Would I stay here again, probably not, as there are plenty of other holiday parks in and around the area.

Room Tip: We had caravan 132, fab views and only the fields and see in front of you.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review.

It sounds as though you enjoyed your holiday but you sound a little disappointed with your accommodation - the Jubilee caravans are usually very popular. I do hope your reported the maintenance issues to reception and that they were quickly mended. We will have a look at the mattresses to see if they need to be changed.

I do hope you will reconsider and come back to Seaview when you are next in the area - I am confident you would enjoy it.

This was my third stay at Seaview (7th -14th June) and i must say it was the best. I believe it was because this time i stayed in a Regent caravan where previously i'd stayed in chalets....there's no comparison the caravans are definately better.
The chalets are quite 'tired' and lacked a lot of basic essentials whereas i was really pleasantly surprised with the caravan. It was really comfortable inside, modern, well equiped and clean plus it had a great decking area out the patio-doors with a table and four chairs and a fab view over Talland Bay.
The bed was comfy and the shower was really good....no problems with water pressure even at peek times.
The site itself was as usual immaculate..it's really looked after and tidy.
Basically you get what you pay for...i paid more for the caravan than the chalet but it was certainly worth it. Had a great week with my little dog and many happy hours sitting in the sunshine on the decking.
Will definately be back, well done Seaview.

my wife and I have just returned from the seaview holiday village. we stayed in bungalow 52, it was nice and clean the electric is metered we stayed Monday to Friday and it cost us £2 so no complaints there, mind you we didn't use the fire as the weather was kind. the kitchen was well equipped, with a microwave and full size 4 ring cooker, the furniture in the lounge area was dated but in good condition, the sofa and the two chairs were in the wrong place meaning if you wanted to watch tv with your partner it was separate seats, but being newly weds, we simply swapped them round, hey presto we were able to snuggle up on the sofa and watch tele.
the bedroom was fine comfortable double bed, with a duvet and pillows ( we didn't use them as we were under the impression they were not provided and had brought our own) . We never even entered the second bedroom as there were only the two of us and it wasn't needed. The bath room was nice a corner wc handwash basin and a nice looking shower cubical would have been better if there was actual hat water in the shower, but despite having the emersion heater on for a good couple of hours no hot water as forthcoming, but we simply used the shower at the pool, the shop was expensive, I went over to get a tin of beans, and having £1.35 in change in my pocket didn't bother to take my wallet, I had to return beanless as £1.35 is not enough to purchase beans. we enjoyed using the pool, and the young lifeguard bloke is very friendly and remembered us even though he must get a lot of swimmer's passing through . cant comment on the catering as we didn't use it, we only went to the club one night to see the comic, "tank" somebody?" he was good and made us laugh out loud. the beer is expensive compared to home more than a pound extra at £3.45 a pint, all in all apart from a few little niggles not worth bothering about it was a good experience the staff are all very friendly and helpful, we used it as a base to visit various places in Cornwall and it was fine, I do agree with the other reviewer who commented on the information pack you get on arrival, a lot of the leaflets enclosed were for attractions way to far away some being over an hours drive, that being said we did visit the animal sanctuary place after reading the leaflet and it was well worth it ..... we would return if we found ourselves noth Cornwall again

Room Tip: ask for a high number bungalow, they all seemed to have a patio and outside seating.

Just back from a week at Seaview, got a good deal on a caravan with a great view. We wouldn't have paid the" full price" though as you do much better elsewhere.
Some of the Chalets on site look dated but I guess it's priced to suit all needs.
The bar and shop are reasonable and the entertainment is varied, again to suit all needs.
The staff are very good especially the lady in the shop, great local knowledge and nothing is too much trouble.
Reading the negative reviews it really is a matter of getting what you paid for, we checked all the options and chose what suited our expectations.
Polperro village is great and only a 20 minute walk downhill, ask how to find the back lane, don't attempt to walk the main road. We paid a fiver for a cab home after trying all the pubs.
The local bus service is good and we got a Looe value ranger ticket for £5, it lasts all day between Looe and Polperro, the bus stops near the site and is a bargain as you can go to Liskeard on the train as well. The scenic train ride is good but don't bother to walk into town, come straight back! The town is in a bad way theses days with a retail park on the outskirts.

Room Tip: The later model caravans are the best deal with patio doors and a balcony overlooking the bay.

We were at Seaview from 9th to 13th June and once again everything was how we expected it to be, the caravan was immaculate, smelt clean was dust free, the beds were up to expectation. The park itself was clean and tidy and very quiet which which suited us.Over the last six years of staying at Seaview this has got to be the best and now it's under the management of Wendy and her husband I'm sure it is going to improve even more, good luck to Seaview and all the staff, see you all later in the year.

Room Tip: Caravans are better value

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on the park and for your very kind comments. The staff work extremely hard to make everyone's stay enjoyable and sometimes people can be very unfair with their comments.

Like yourself, many people return year after year, sometimes two or three times a year and we really appreciate you making the effort to let us know your thoughts.

We look forward to your return later in the year. Thank you once again.
