Visited The Kitchen last week with family and had a wonderful experience. We skipped the starters after eyeing up the delicious sounding deserts. Between us, we had fillet of duck (they were happy to cook a little longer than normal on request of one of my party) which came with a scrumptious jus, mediterranean fish stew with a variety of local seafood, Cornish sole beautifully cooked and a huge bowl of mussels. I tried a bit of everyone's and was thoroughly impressed.
For desert we had a yummy ginger and rhubarb creme brulee cooked perfectly, a giant hazelnut meringue with just the right amount of chew and a palette cleansing passionfruit sorbet.
The owners were extremely friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience which came as a surprise to me for such a small village. Highly recommended!

Visited the Kitchen on Bank Holiday Monday after booking online some weeks before, booking was simple and quick. Arrived for our meal with a friendly greeting addressed by name. Service was fantastic, efficient and friendly. The food was delicious from the lemon and poppy seed bread (can I get the recipe?!) to the scallop starter that we both chose. I went for the Sole main which was delicious in the minted butter sauce, accompanied with fresh vegetables, my boyfriend had the steak which was cooked perfectly and delicious. Even though we were full after our starters and mains we still went for the cheese board to share, all of the cheeses were delicious and there was a great selection to choose from. Having visited Polperro for many years its such a shame we have not been to the Kitchen before, rest assured on all our future visits we will definitely be booking in. Thanks Harry, Karen and team for a lovely meal and memorable evening!

Underwhelmed by look of the restaurant, which is pretty basic decor, but the food was very good. Star dishes were duck breast and the fish bisque, which is tricky to cook but each piece of seafood was expertly cooked. Puddings were very good too.

This is fine dining in an intimate small restaurant. The food was beautifully served and the resultant eating did not disappoint. The Cornish cream cheesecake with mango and passion fruit was out of this world. The service was attentive and pleasantly welcoming, and it was a pleasure to have a chat with the chef(and co-proprietor) at the end of the meal.
It is expensive but definitely value for money - I would have paid happily up to £100 for the 2 of us, including wine, but the bill came out just over £75.
