The Slipway

At the slipway the setting of the hotel is indeed lovely but the hotel does not match it. The whole experience of staying here was therefore expensive and underwhelming. The accommodation is very low standard. We stayed in the hotel for one night (room 3). The room was drab and cramped and the cushions and the floor were dirty. Two people cannot move around the room easily making it quite uncomfortable.
Food in the evening was good (not exceptional) and expensive for the quality. Shame that with so many good breweries in the area they only had one choice of beer. The breakfast was mediocre in size and taste.
We had expected a special experience of staying in a special hote in a special place. Port Isaac is indeed lovely, but our stay was at the hotel was poor value for money and a huge disappointment.

We stayed here for 3 nights over the Easter holidays, the hotel and staff were excellent . We ate in the restaurant on 2occasions and on both the food was of the highest quality as was the breakfast. We loved the feeling of the whole place as well as port issac itself. One slight moan was that the mattress was a bit on the hard side. We would both happily return here.

We are a family of 5"2 and under and we could not sit on the toilet without our knees touching the bath. Views were lovely out of the windows and beds were comfy but the price and size outweighed this. Port Isaac is a beautiful place but unless you eat at the chippy every night you need to be prepared to pay around 15 quid for a main meal. Definitely visit the area but maybe not this hotel unfortunately.

Myself and my partner stayed at the Slipway for 2 nights as a last minute choice. We had initially booked our stay at 'The Gallery' on Port Issac harbor front without reading any trip TripAdvisor reviews until 2 days before leaving!! BIG MISTAKE! They were appalling and quickly cancelled. Apparently we were very lucky to get our deposit back.

However, the Slipway staff were very helpful from the first time we spoke on the phone to handing our keys in on our return home. We got a £199 winter deal package that included B+B and dinner! The hotel staff are extremely helpful, friendly and professional at what they do and the chef turns out a scrumptious menu and refreshing breakfast everyday! We stayed in room 2, although small it provides a balcony and a direct view of the slipway and harbor. As a couple we found the residents relaxation room (home from home lounge) beneficial when we wanted quiet area in the hotel without having to go back to our room.

The Slipway Hotel provides a very comforting stay. The staff really did make a BIG difference to our stay compared to what it would have been like if we had stuck with our initial booking.

Room Tip: Room 1 and 2 have balcony's, the latter having the better view but smaller.

Me and my husband stay here for 2 nights after we got married at Trevenna in st neot. The room was lovely and clean, had great views of the harbour. Breakfast was tasty and the evening meal was good quality but little expensive. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Visited in July this year. Disappointing food & service at this restaurant. Seems to be living on it's location rather than the quality of the food. As with other reviews the service doesn't make you feel special. Could be so much better.
