“Very neat cottage”
Reviewed 9 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This cottage was tidy and cosy during the cold weather we had, but the promised free wifi was not available and the owner failed to send us the instructions on how to get in, which took a couple of hours to sort out. Apart from that we had a very pleasant stay.

“Higher Hendra”
Reviewed 23 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

It was a short break for the dog and I to visit friends. Loved the location in a courtyard so safe for dog to go out and quiet too. Cottage very well equipped with lovely shower in bathroom and pint of milk and teabags in kitchen area. Near enough to port Isaac and the rest of the coast. Slept well and really felt away from it all.

Lovely little cozy cottage, attention to details, warm and friendly owner. I stayed with my wife and son for a couple of nights during the easter weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner was very kind and provided us an extra cot bed for my son.
We'll certainly go back for a longer stay sometime in future. It's a lovely quiet location in a working farm, can't get better,

“Warm & Cosy & All mod cons”
Reviewed 2 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

What a great little place this is a little gem, you have everything you need in this cosy little place. It is well placed for visiting the surrounding places, my wife and I enjoyed everything about the place oh! and on arrival we had a complimentary packet of Cornish Biscuits what more could you ask for i would highly recommend this place, so if you fancy a break get on down to Cornwall and Wheel Lodge.

“Perfect base for exploring this lovely area”
Reviewed 5 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Wheel Lodge was perfect for our needs: a small but thoughtfully equipped base for two people which was both comfortable and immaculate. The cake was very much appreciated - a lovely thought, as was the milk provided on arrival.

Liked best: Location and overall comfort and cleanliness of property.
Liked least: Turning into the tight main road drive entrance. There was always a car on our tail as we approached - but we survived!

Plenty of room with quiet and peacefulness in a rural setting. We appreciated the closeness to all things Doc Martin! We even took a day trip down to St. Michael's Mount. The cake on the counter when we arrived was a pleasant treat!

“Comfortable haven for a poet”
Reviewed 26 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

I had a great few days at Higher Hendra, staying in one of the holiday cottages in the old farmyard.

The owners were very welcoming - emailing with travel help and suggestions, even leaving a freshly-baked cake ready for me!

The farm was very easy to find, and nicely situated within walking distance of the bracing North Cornish cliffs. The butcher in nearby St Teath and pubs in Port Isaac were within useful distance and everything they should have been.

The cottage was exceptionally clean on my arrival, kitchen had every implement and some very nice non-stick pans. Did I mention the cake?

Combine with cosy heating and a nice hot shower for refreshment after muddy walks and it made for a very cosy little haven for someone wanting to enjoy some Cornish beauty.
