The one thing that really stands out about this place is the staff. They go above and beyond and were very nice to me and my husband during our stay. They even went through the trouble of posting my husband's trainers to him after he forgot them - which they of course had no obligation to do! They took time to help us with routes to local sites and restaurants.

We have just returned from staying at the Beechwood. The family room was slightly on the cramped side, but for the amount of time we stayed in it, it was no hardship. The bed was very comfy as were the pillows, with lovely clean white sheets. Yes, there was a bit of a smell from the bathroom but again that didn't matter to us. More importantly, the breakfast was good. we had a choice of fresh fruit, yoghurts, then either a full English, beans on toast, scrambled egg on toast or salmon & scrambled egg. All very nicely cooked, so how anyone can say it was of poor standard is beyond me. The position of Beechwood is perfect for Carbis beach and far enough outside St. Ives. We used the train a few times and found it very handy & reasonably priced. All in all we had a very good holiday and would have no hesitation in staying at the Beechwood again. It might not be the Hilton but has all the requirements for a very pleasant stay, nice comfy bed & pillows, clean, and a good breakfast, what more could you ask for.

Room Tip: Our room was at the back/side of the hotel. A seagull came every morning around 7-30, woke us up and...

We stayed for three nights, though we're always out during the day, the service was excellent! It's like being at home, friendly couple (Jan and Peter) who owns the place were very accommodating, I highly recommend this hotel! We're definitely coming back.

OK for a base, we hardly were ever there as we travelled around so much. Bathroom and bedroom were clean, albeit on the small side. Really good location, our main and only issue was breakfast, it was a very poor standard and we found a very long hair in our beans the first morning therefore didnt actually eat there the rest of the time. Really poor from the owners and that put us off, we probably wouldnt stay again as quite expensive for what you get. £285 for 3 nights, you can get much better somewhere else.

Enjoyed our stay here. Our room was a sufficient size for the both of us and our hosts were friendly. The breakfasts were tasty and plentiful. The hotel is about a 40 minute walk from St Ive's. You can walk along the front which takes in Carbis Bay (lovely) before reaching St Ive's along an easy to follow coastal path. We also walked back via the main road, less scenic but made a change (and was lit, which helped on our later night returns).

There is a frequently running train service between Carbis Bay (lesiurely ten minute walk from the hotel) in to St Ive's if you prefer and we also gather there is a bus service but we didn't use these.

Would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Take a torch or download a torch app if you plan to walk back from St Ive's via the coastal path...
