My partner and I came across this place whilst visiting St Ives - we had been scouting out possible eating options and this one struck us both immediately. Tucked slightly out of the way but on the sea front, first impressions are of a cosy slightly funky taverna style bistro. We booked to return later in the week. When we arrived for our meal we were met with a friendly welcome and guided upstairs, introduced to our server, Jenny, who then took us through some small but simple things which really added to the evening - simple things like where the toilets were, how the menu was laid out, the evenings specials etc.
The ambience was lovely, cosy without being cramped, although if you have a large party you may want to check first how they would accommodate you. Background music was audible without being intrusive, Frank Sinatra crooning through his hits. The menu isn't extensive but that works as what is on offer is all done beautifully. We both had a starter and main and couldn't fault anything in either, all the food was cooked perfectly and tasted absolutley fabulous, portion sizes were just right, not stacked up in a heap but enough to know you had eaten a real meal. Prices were maybe a smidge above the average but the food was well worth it.
Jenny was always available with service, advice where needed and a friendly word too - not stopping all night as she was server for all the upstairs tables - she even found time to take a snap of us when we asked!
So all in all highly recommended, I would certainly suggest you book though as it does get busy - not surprising when you look at the quality of food and service.
