Called last minute and got an early table with plenty of space for our 3 dogs to spread out. Service could not be faulted and we were soon called up to carvery where there was 3 joints to choose from. (you could have all 3). And a huge variety of vegetables. Stuffing. Crispy Yorkshire puds. It was absolutely delicious and will definitely be back when next in Cornwall. On the road between Hayle and st Ives. Great find

Having been here previously and had a fantastic carvery I returned recently to be shocked at how much it has changed. Initially the feel of the place had changed and there were not the usual queues for the carvery which was slightly worrying for 6pm on a Sunday. After putting our order through which consisted of 7 carverys and only one meal ordered from the menu, we waited about an hour and had to ask what the delay was as seafood linguine doesn't normally take an hour. We were then finally told we cold go up for the food by a particularly disinterested waitress to found the meat well over cooked and dry and the vegetables soggy and lacking options. There was then no choice of gravy and the only sauces were in sachets. The food was as bad as it looked and the majority on our table was taken home for the dogs and even they didn't look impressed! To add to the disappointment we were then told that they had never got the order for the linguine and therefore hadn't made anything! We struggled to understand this bearing in mind this was the reason we had to wait so long. The manager did offer to give us a free carvery but this was politely declined having seen standard of food on offer. Overall this was a huge disappointment and we will not return. I fear this pub has changed hands since my last visit and they clearly do not have the same standards as previously regimes.

We come to Cornwall, Hayle, every year and always book the carvery on the Sunday. Often eating in the Badger midweek too. We have always been impressed by the food and the staff. However this year was bitterly disappointing. The food was not up the usual great standard and the standard of the place overall had dropped. Not being a particular dog lover either I didn't like the way the dogs were able to join us in an eating area! Also staff members were petting the animals and then serving food! I shall not be eating in there again so now need to look elsewhere for my Sundry lunch. Very very dissapointed.

Well worth a visit, great menu, excellent carvery, and good service all round.
We went for the Sunday carvery and booked again for Friday before we were due to go home.
The carvery had three meat selections and enough choice of veg to sink a ship. Bar service was great. Friendly, happy and made you feel welcome. Well done.
