Great venue any time of day! Had a fantastic cheese board with excellent choice of cheeses and Quine Jelly accompanied by chilled Ameretto! Friend enjoyed a selection of deserts from the tapas menu all enjoyed in an outside booth. If you're on the beach try their take out cafe below, the Crayfish Salad is a must to try, but watch out for the seagulls on the beach.

Lovely restaurant clean and excellent service. The views are stunning especially if you manage to get a window seat. We visited for breakfast and the food was good my only criticism is they only serve sour dough bread. There is no other option.

We went in for lunch and were efficiently seated in one of their generously sized outdoor booths, so we were off to a good start. We had tapas and were surprised by how good the quality was - both of the mackerel dishes were really excellent and threat simply very good. Service was unhurried and friendly and we finished with delicious desserts. Recommended!

Visited for drinks on a very sunny day. The view from the terrace is superb, the staff friendly and although we did not eat there, the food looked really good. Would return to try the tapas and can imagine that a late evening meal there would be very good.

Despite having visited St Ives many times, this was our first visit to Porthmeor Cafe. Given its high reputation, we were very much looking forward to our meal and we weren't disappointed.

The cafe is located opposite the Tate Gallery and we dined on a Saturday evening. It's primarily a tapas restaurant with a good and varied selection of dishes. What I particularly liked was the pricing. Our local tapas restaurant charges around £6 per dish regardless of the content, whereas at the Porthmeor, the cost varies according to the content, making it much better value (as well as being much better food).

We had a selection of tapas for starter. I had hake for main and some wonderful cheese for dessert. The Cornish Blue and the local Brie were particularly good.

The service was very good and the cost was around £75 for two, including pre-meal drinks, wine and dessert wine.

The view from the restaurant eclipses even that of the Porthminster Beach Cafe. Watching the surfers as the sun went down was a memorable experience.

Very good indeed and deserving of its high ranking in the local restaurant stakes.
