We just dropped in and they were fully booked, but nevertheless managed to arrange a table. Had a very nice crab & shrimp penne. Yum!

Our B&B owner recommended this restaurant. On arriving we were told there was a table available, but only for 45 minutes. We decided to stay and just have a main course - whilst waiting for our meal, the waitress came up and said she'd been able to jig the tables around and we didn't need to leave, we could stay as long as we wanted. This was excellent service, and also meant we could have some pudding! It's right on the harbour so you can see the harbour whilst you eat.

We ate here on a Sunday lunchtime and despite the gorgeous sunshine it was relatively quiet, however, we have been told that it can get packed, so may be worth booking in future. The menu included loads of dishes that I would have liked to try and had great pizza and pasta choices. All of our party went for pizza and they were all delicious. I had a steak and blue cheese pizza that was really good and they were very generous with the toppings. For four big pizzas, a bottle of wine and a soft drink it came to just under £50, which I think is great value. I think that this restaurant beats Pizza Express hands down and we will definitely be coming back! What was really nice as well was that although we were sat inside we were right by big doors and had a great view of St.Ives.

We both had a tropical (Hawaiian) and it has proper chunks of gammon. Very filling and great value. Much better than the normal thin ham. Would recommend and great value.

We are locals & regulars at Cafe Pasta. It delights for ambience, quality and service most of the time. When busy it can be a little challenging to attract the waiting staff. Last nights meal for 4 of us didn't go perfectly. The slow cooked lamb & boulangerie potatoes missed the Mark, as the potato was not cooked/ a little firm. But also the potato lacked any flavour at all. Staff were spot on to offer an alternative & remove the original meal from the bill. A lasagne was taken in its place & was the usual good flavour & standard of this restaurant.
One of the white wines poured by the waitress was found to have been placed in a chipped glass. This was returned to the waitress & expected to be replaced by another glass of Pino Grigio. The glass was taken from the table where there was by chance another available glass used in its place. The waitress placed the faulty glass containing the wine, on the counter without informing her colleague it was defective. It was emptied to waste & placed in the dishwasher tray with others ready to wash & re-use. I went immediately to the counter & informed the waitress/ manageress who identified the glass & disposed of it to recycle- waste.
Shame, opportunity missed again!
An offer to replace the glass with Pino Grigio in it would have been nice, but didn't happen.
Still, we had a nice evening & paid in full as well as leaving a tip. Hopefully Cafe Pasta will read this review & tighten up their service. We will be back as regulars, & hope to see things back to the usual high standard.
