Description: Becks has expanded into a restaurant with bar and lounge area to complement the still thriving take-away. The restaurant area itself seats over 100 people. Becks does not take reservations, although notification of parties over 9 people is recommended. The main selling point and one of the major credentials is that Becks offer gluten free options. All types of fish (Cod, Haddock, Hake, Plaice), scampi and pizzas are available with this option. For customers choosing to sit in the restaurant there is also a range of desserts on offer that are gluten free. Becks is the only fish and chip shop in a 6 mile radius that offer gluten free products.

The great thing about Becks is that you can sit in or takeaway! We chose to have a takeaway as the weather was glorious and only a short 7 minute walk to beach views. Delicious fresh fish and chips, there was even an offer on. No complaints whatsoever- definitely the best fish and chips I've ever had in St Ives and very reasonably priced.

We were recommended this restaurant and while initially we were going to have takeaway the change in weather meant that became an opportunity to try out the restaurant part. Always a good sign to see it looking busy early in the evening and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Menu choices were great, prices reasonable for a restaurant and the fish was gorgeous. Certainly came away full up and will certainly go back.

. The man serving in the bar was very pleasant and friendly. We didn't have to wait long before the lady ( who also was very friendly and pleasant) called us through to the restaurant. There was a great choice of fish and other dishes too. My husband is a coeliac and he has never seen such a choice of gluten free fish and chips and even scampi (which he has never had since being diagnosed ) He was spoilt for choice! He had the scampi which he thoroughly enjoyed. We all enjoyed our meal too. The puddings were great too. And I thought the place was very clean.

We did not reserve and waited in the bar area for a table. The place seemed very busy. We had a 'reasonably' priced bottle of Australian wine to wet our appetite (£13.95) whilst we waited, and took this through to the restaurant after a short wait. It has a canteen type feel about the restaurant, but this was fine. We shared a starter of scampi, which was excellent, and went for cod and chips as the main. My wife had the breaded cod, which she said was lovely, and I had the battered which was also excellent. I suppose it is just fish and chips, but it was nice, so good we ordered another bottle of wine! They allow you to take out your leftover wine and give you the wine top which is a nice touch. The service was friendly, but they did forget to bring out the onion rings and mushrooms, after pointing this out they removed it from the bill. Our bill was £50, which you could say is a bit pricey, but we were well full, had a lovely meal, and were a little worse for wear in terms of alcohol!! Nice.
