“Old school fish and chips”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

We couldn't believe the queues in this place, and the number of cars in the vast car park. Having walked past the busy takeaway and joined the queue for the restaurant, we didn't have to wait that long to be seated.

We only ordered fish and chips, but it was well done with crispy batter. The chips were good-old chip-shop-chips. Good value for money and very friendly service.

“Best fish and chip shop ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

From the outside it doesn't look like much but on the inside it is really nice and really quite big. All of the staff are lovely and friendly. Sometimes you have to wait a while for a table but it is definitely worth it. They have a large selection of meals which also include pizzas, yes at a chippy! The selection of puddings is even greater. All of it is very yummy as well. Usually I don't like chip shop chips but these chips are the most delicious ones I have ever had, I didn't leave a single crumb! Shame I don't live near here or I'd be back for chips all the time!

“Great.”

Great fish and chips, lovely light crispy batter. Don't be shy like us though, if you want something which it says is cooked to order shout up as soon as you go in.

“Great fish and chips - huge portions!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

Get there early as queues start from 6.30pm (nor do they do pre-orders) but the service is quick, portions huge and fish very good. They have a strange set up that you have to catch one of the kitchen staff's eyes whilst at the back of the shop and shout your order in before you get to the counter ... wasn't brave enough to do this until people before did this ... so watch the locals and learn from them :)

“An excellent restaurant, so much more than a chippy!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

Penultimate night of our holiday and we decided to give this a go, having read good reviews about the grub.

We couldn't believe it when we saw it, a proper restaurant with a bar and a large restaurant. The staff were lovely, so great to see a slightly older couple run a fabulous restaurant like this. It is very slightly dated, but that just adds to its overall charm and atmosphere.
The food, (between us we had haddock, chicken, ham and lasagne) was excellent, the service very good and the whole experience really worthwhile. The sweet pea flowers in the ladies' were a lovely touch.

Highly reccommended.
