We have stayed here twice now, each time for a fortnight. The cottage is lovely, actually two semi-detached cottages but in this rather remote area you are unlikely to get noisy neighbours (they are all at St Ives!) Everything is very clean and modern though if you are 6 feet tall the very low kitchen ceiling would be difficult. The toilet and excellently powerful shower are down stairs which is a bit awkward if you need to use the facilities at night (very steep stairs). The location is lovely, marred only by a large plastic contraption in front of the kitchen window. Electricity is now included and there is very adequate heating and a good flat screen TV. The double bed has a rather hard mattress which my wife found a little difficult The only major negative point is the access. The main track is awful but you can drive through a semi-industrial area on a reasonable tarmac road. The car park has a very narrow entrance coming off a very narrow lane and is very difficult to negotiate in the dark. One wet dark evening I got it wrong and badly scraped my car on the granite wall. The owners reckoned I was the first visitor to come a cropper in this way. I'm afraid this has thoroughly put us off another visit. This is a pity because Trevethoe Cottage is one of the few good value cottages near St Ives (many are over priced). I'm afraid the owners just don't seem to understand the difficulties experienced by motorists in two wheel drive cars.
