I had chosen the Keep at the perfect place to celebrate my 50th birthday. Having stayed several times before I knew we would get 5 star, personalised treatment and so we did.

The room was immaculately clean and luxuriously comfortable (the Pilchard Press) and Carol and Mike even helped us carry in our luggage from the car. The breakfasts were delicious and well presented- liked the egg cosies with The Keep knitted into the pattern. We had a handmade Hello again chocolate bar and postcard to welcome us back.

Unknown to us the guests in the Mermaid press turned our to be my brother and his girlfriend- they had been plotting with Carol and Mike all year! Carol and Mike had even sorted a booking we had made to include the surprise guests.

For my birthday breakfast I had a special 50th birthday chocolate plaque from Carol and Mike, one of Mike's lovely photographic cards and an "everlasting candle" that played Happy Birthday- much to our amusement! Carol and Mike joined us for some champagne too, so it was like celebrating at a friend's house but with everything laid on for you- great food and comfortable, tasteful surroundings. I can't think of anywhere else you would get this personalised service.

The location in the centre of St Ives is perfect for exploring. As other reviews have said, Carol and Mike always have ideas of places to visit and new places to suggest (as we have stayed several times)

We are hoping to return shortly as we can't get enough of The Keep or St Ives- wish we got more holiday so we could go more often.

I have seen some other reviews of other places to stay in St Ives which offer "top class" accommodation but would suggest that The Keep offers this at value for money prices. We would say try it out- you wouldn't then want to stay anywhere else!

Had a perfect stay at The Keep. Mike and Carol could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room was delightfully decorated and the breakfast delicious. The location is also ideal as it is two minutes from Porthmeor Beach and the Tate and just ten minutes' walk from the station. Definitely hope to come back!

We stayed here for 4 nights in September 2013 and loved every minute of it. Carol and Mike are the perfect hosts, providing everything you need and happy to chat at any time (and very knowledgeable about the area). Our room (the Pilchard Press) was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Fantastic shower too! We also loved the guest lounge (with lots of magazines and local information). Breakfasts are delicious; we particularly liked the fresh fruit, Greek yogurt and pancakes.
The location couldn't be better; the Digey is right in the centre of St Ives and close to the Harbour and Porthmeor Beach.
We look forward to returning here and meeting up with Carol and Mike again......why would we want to stay anywhere else?

Room Tip: Just two rooms.....both lovely.

Excellent place to stay in St Ives. We stayed in the Pilchard Press for three nights while taking part in an art exhibition at The Salthouse Gallery. We were minutes from the beaches and the Tate and Hepworth museums, but in a quiet little alley. We were well looked after by Carol and Mike, including helpful ideas for places to eat out before we arrived. Pancakes with berries for breakfast are highly recommended.

We stayed for 3 nights at the keep and from the moment we arrived till the time that we left we were thoroughly looked after.
We had booked both rooms as we went with my elderly mother and I have to say this was a perfect location for her as it was all on one level, both rooms were superb in cleanliness and the attention to detail was second to none.

Mike and carol could not have been more helpful, always ensuring that we had everything we needed and they gave us lots of tips with places to visit in the local and surrounding areas.

The breakfast every morning were delicious and they went out of their way to ensure we had everything that we needed, even cooking blueberry pancakes when they were not even on the menu and I have to say they were absolutely lovely.

I would thoroughly recommend the keep to everyone.we will definitely be returning,

Thanks again Mike & Carol look forward to visiting again Louise,Gary & Grace

What a delight to find The Keep. Superb room (Pitchard Press), decorated to a high standard with a luxurious and comfortable bed. Carol and Mike were all you could ask for in hosts, helpful and informative, a pleasure to chat with. Breakfast was just as lovely, but the 'personal little touches' are what make this place feel very special. I would highly recommend The Keep and we look forward to our next visit.

Had a really wonderful stay for 3 nights in the Keep. The location is amazing with the Tate and the beautiful beach less than a minute's walk, and yet it felt a very peaceful cottage. The Pilchard's Press room was a lovely mixture of modern and charming and was quite a good size. Carol and \Mike are really helpful and easy to talk to hosts, and the breakfasts were delicious. Would definitely stay there again.
